Problem What it means... What to do...
No LED indica-
tion
No charger contact.
No power to the charger.
Check that the radio with battery or
the battery is inserted correctly.
Make sure that the power cord
is securely plugged into the
charger and an appropriate AC
outlet, and that there is power to
the outlet.
Blinking red indi-
cation
No charger contact.
Battery is not chargeable.
Remove the battery from the
charger and replace it back into the
charger.
Verify that the battery is a Mo-
torola Solutions authorized bat-
tery listed in Batteries on page
10 . Other batteries might not
charge.
Remove the battery from the
charger, and clean the charging
contact at the back of the bat-
tery using pencil eraser.
Replace battery.
Blinking yellow
indication
Battery is waiting to charge. The bat-
tery temperature might be below 5 °C
(41 °F) or above 40 °C (104 °F) or the
battery voltage might be lower than the
predetermined threshold level for rapid
charging.
When this condition is corrected,
the battery charges automatically.
NOTE: Rapid charging
outside of the stated tem-
perature and voltage lim-
its can drastically reduce
the life expectancy of the
battery.
NOTE: When the battery
charger detects the prop-
er battery conditions, rap-
id charging begins au-
tomatically (steady red
LED).
