Quick Start Guide

X – Series Gas Monitor
This quick start guide does not replace the operating manual. It is imperative that the
operating manual file on the CD be read and observed when using the apparatus. In
particular, the safety instructions, as well as the information for the use and operation of
the apparatus, must be carefully read and observed.
The operating manual can also be provided as a hard copy upon request.

(1) Unscrew the enclosure lid and remove the electronics module.
(2)
Mount the enclosure in the desired location and run suitable wiring
to the enclosure.
(3) Install the sensor module in the applicable threaded entry or
connect remote sensor - catalytic and electrochemical sensors
must point downwards, XIR sensor must be horizontal.
(4) Read the identification label on the side of the electronics module:
a) if “2-
wire mA” do not connect ground wire to J8-
3.
b) if “3-
wire mA”connect connect ground wire to J8-
3.
(5) Connect 24 VDC power to connector J8-1.
(6) Connect J8-2 to the 4-20mA on remote system.
(7) Connect the sensor modules to connector J1.
(8) Connect optional relays and/or reset (acknowledge)
push-button to J10.
(9) Replace the electronics module and the lid on the enclosure.
(10) Apply power and observe the LCD as all the segments light, the
software version displays and a 30 second (self check) countdown
occurs.
(11) After the 30 second countdown, observe that the gas type and
gas concentration alternately display (for three wire units with
LEDs, green LED is ON and red LED is OFF).
(12) Perform a gas calibration to ensure proper operation.
