  If your MTD Engine fails to start, several factors could be the cause. It might be due to a disconnected spark plug boot; in this case, connect the wire to the spark boot. Alternatively, the fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel, so fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline. A faulty spark plug could also be the culprit, requiring cleaning, gap adjustment, or replacement. If the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position. Lastly, a dead battery or blown fuse could prevent starting; recharge the battery or replace the fuse, referring to the equipment operator’s manual for guidance.
