Thisplugcanbereplacedwitha waterporttobeusedas
partof aseparately-availabledeckwashsystem.
UsetheDeckWashSystemTM to rinsegrassclippings
fromthedeck'sundersideandpreventthe buildupof
corrosivechemicals.

Cutting Deck Removal
NOTE:Modelsequippedwitha 38-inchdeckhaveone
deckidlerpulley.Modelsequippedwitha 42-inchdeck
havetwodeckidlerpulleys.
Toremovethe cuttingdeck, proceedas follows:
1. PlacethePTO(BladeEngage)leverinthedisen-
gaged(OFF)positionandengagetheparkingbrake.
2. Lowerthe deckby movingthedeck liftleverinto the
bottomnotchon therightfender.
3. Removethe beltfromaroundthetractor'sengine
pulleyandidlerpulley(s).RefertoChangingthe Deck
Belton page26fordetailedinstructions.
4. Lookingat the cuttingdeckfromthe leftsideof the
tractor,locatethehairpinclipthatsecuresthe deck
supportrodon the rearleftsideof thedeck. See
Figure22.
5. Removethe hairpin clipthatsecuresthedeck
supportrod,andcarefullyremovethe decksupport
fromthedeck liftarm.
6. Repeatthe abovestepsonthetractor'srightside.
7. Movethe decklift leverintothetopnotchonthe right
fenderto raisethedeck liftarmsupandout of the
way.
8. CarefullyremovethePTOcablefromtherearof
thecuttingdeckby removingthe hairpin clipwhich
securesit. Removethespringfromthe deckidler
bracket.SeeFigure23.
9. Gentlyslidethecuttingdecktowardthefrontofthe
tractorallowingthe hooksonthedecktorelease
themselvesfromthedeckstabilizerrod.
10.Gentlyslidethecuttingdeck(fromthe rightside)out
fromunderneaththetractor.
