CALiFORNiA EMiSSiON CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLiGATiONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardand MTDConsumerGroupIncare pleasedtoexplaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour2007 lawn
mower.InCalifornia,newlawnmowermust bedesigned,built andequippedtomeet theState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warrantthe EECSonyour lawnmowerfor the periodoftime listedbelowprovidedthere hasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof your lawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantableconditionexists, MTDConsumer GroupInc willrepair your lawnmower at no costto you includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemis warrantedfor twoyears. If anyevaporativeemission-relatedpart onyour equipmentis defective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSiBILITiES:
Asthe lawn mowerowner,you areresponsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedin your owner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroupInc cannotdenywarrantysolelyfor the lackof receipts.
Asthe lawn mowerowner,you shouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageif yourlawn moweror a parthasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawn mowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas the problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time, nottoexceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris:Designed,builtand equippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefrom defectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpart to beidenticalin all material
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthe datethe lawnmoweris deliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodis twoyears.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis as follows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnot scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedfor the warrantyperiod
statedabove.If thepartfails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,the partwill be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuch partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledonly for regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor thewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedorreplacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor the periodoftime beforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfailsbeforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuch partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderofthe periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpartunderthewarrantyprovisionshereinmustbe performedat a warrantystationat nochargeto theowner.
8. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedat all ofourdistributioncentersthat arefranchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerownerwillnot bechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedata warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc isliablefor damagestoother engineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbya failureunderwarrantyofanywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedpartssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
not reducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseof anynon-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwillbe groundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailures ofwarrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementofanywarrantedpartotherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat thelawn mowerhasbeenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseofthe needfor repairor replacementofthe part.That notwithstanding,any adjustmentof a componentthat hasa factory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslistare covered:FuelLine,Fuel LineClamps
