Important : Follow these instructions carefully.
1.1 Definition of Installation Categories (see IEC 664-1)
CAT I: Circuits protected by devices limiting low-level transient
overvoltages.
Example: protected electronic circuits.
CAT II: Power-supply circuits for domestic appliances or
similar, vulnerable to average-value transient overvoltages.
Example: power supply for domestic appliances and portable
tools.
CAT III: Power-supply circuits for power devices, vulnerable to
major transient overvoltages.
Example: power supply for industrial machines or devices.
