The N-BIOTEK Orbital Shaker with Remote Control (Model: NB-101SRC and NB-101MRC) is a laboratory instrument designed for general research, particularly for suspension cell culture within incubators. This compact shaker features a wired remote control for convenient operation without needing to open the incubator door.
Function Description:
The primary function of the orbital shaker is to provide precise and consistent shaking for various laboratory vessels, facilitating processes like cell culture and mixing. A microprocessor-based Constant Monitoring System (CMS) ensures accurate control over the shaking speed. The unit utilizes a brushless DC motor and a beltless drive system, which significantly minimizes noise and vibration during operation, thereby extending the lifespan of the device. The remote control allows users to set and monitor shaking parameters from outside the incubator. An indicator lamp on the remote control provides a visual representation of the shaker's run status, proportional to the RPM speed.

Usage Features:
- Convenient Remote Control: The wired remote control allows for easy adjustment of settings without opening the incubator door, maintaining stable internal conditions. The remote box can be placed on a flat surface, attached to an incubator wall with magnets, or hung using a plastic strap inserted into its vent holes.
- Digital Control Panel: The remote control features a digital display for speed and time, along with dedicated buttons for RPM/TIME selection, SET, UP (▲), DOWN (▼), and START/STOP.
- Setting Parameters:
- Time Setting: Press and hold the "RPM/TIME" key for approximately 2 seconds until "t" appears, followed by the current set time. Press "SET" to make the time blink, then use UP/DOWN keys to adjust. Press "SET" again to confirm and save.
- Speed Setting: Press and hold the "RPM/TIME" key for approximately 2 seconds until "r" appears, followed by the current set speed. Press "SET" to make the speed blink, then use UP/DOWN keys to adjust. Press "SET" again to confirm and save.
- Error Messages: The system provides specific error messages on the LED display:
- "rErrL": Low speed error. This can be caused by an obstruction or an incorrect speed setting (outside 30-300rpm). To resolve, ensure the platform is unobstructed and within the acceptable speed range. If the platform is moving, simultaneously press and hold "STOP" and "SET" keys.
- "rErrH": High speed error. This typically occurs due to the removal of load or partial load. To resolve, replace the vessel or restart the machine.
- "Error": Electrical error, indicating power loss during operation. Check the power cord installation, circuit interruption, and restart the device.
- Display Not Illuminating: If the display does not illuminate, check the electrical connection, voltage supply, fuse, verify the voltage on the serial number label, and inspect the power switch.
- Optional Accessories: A wide variety of optional accessories are available to accommodate different laboratory vessels such as flasks, tubes, dishes, and trays.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Cleaning: The platform of the mini shaker should be cleaned regularly using a soft cloth dampened with water or alcohol. It is crucial to ensure the machine is powered down before any cleaning.
- Spillage Protocol: In case of a spillage, immediately power down the unit, remove the platform, and dry the internal chamber with a soft cloth. Do not attempt to operate the unit until the spillage has been completely dried to prevent damage.
