GRID PLATE HEATER
The pre-post grid plate heater is located on the
intake manifold.
The purpose of the grid plate heater is to heat the air
in pre-post heating operations. The grid plate heater
is powered by a relay on the chassis.
The impedance of the grid plate heater is
approximately 0.5 ohms.

GRID PLATE HEATER CONTROL RELAY
The control relay is connected to the EDC7UC31
control unit B connector.
The relay is tripped with water and or fuel
temperature below 5° C (41° F).
The relay impedance is approximately 15 ohms.
WARNING: Starting fluids or aids, such as
ether, must not be used to help start this
engine. The use of these starting fluids or
aids will cause severe internal damage to the
engine and can also cause personal injury.
