How to fix a Newport Vibration Control System that leaks air constantly?
    • R
      Robert SpencerAug 9, 2025
If your Newport Control System is constantly leaking air, start by checking all tubing connections for leaks using soapy water. If you find that the tubing is crushed or not cut squarely, use a single-edge razor blade to cut the tubing cleanly. If the isolator or valve is leaking, contact Newport Customer Service.

What to do if the table top of my Newport Control Systems does not float?
    • J
      Joshua JohnsonAug 14, 2025
If the table top of your Newport Control System does not float, ensure that the supply pressure is 5–10 psig (0.4–0.7kg/cm[2]) above the pressure reading of any of the leveling valves. Check that all air lines are properly connected and the supply pressure is adequate. Also, make sure the needle valves are not completely closed. Inspect each leveling valve for clogging by pressing the control arm down; air should flow into the isolator. Repair or replace any clogged valve.

Why is the isolation performance of my Newport Control Systems poor?
    • M
      Michelle LucasAug 20, 2025
Poor isolation performance in your Newport Control System could be due to several factors. You may need to improve the rigidity of the equipment mounting or remove the item from the table. Check if isolators are floating too high, too low, or are not centered, as this can conduct floor vibration to the table top. A non-level floor may also prevent the horizontal isolation system from functioning properly.

What to do if there is an oil leak from the isolator of my Newport Vibration Control System?
    • E
      elliottpamAug 27, 2025
If you notice an oil leak from the isolator of your Newport Control System, it may be because the isolator is inverted or tilted more than 45 degrees. If more than approximately 1/8 cup (30ml) of oil is lost, add additional oil, which is available from Newport Corporation.

How to add damping oil to Newport Control Systems?
    • K
      Kenneth WardSep 2, 2025
To add damping oil to your Newport Control System, first remove the air pressure from the isolator and allow the piston to retract. Measure the height of the support plate relative to the centering disk. Use a funnel to add damping oil through the support shaft hole until the oil level is approximately 1/4" (6.4mm) from the bottom of the piston. Reverse the measuring steps to re-assemble the isolator. Finally, reinstall the isolator and apply air pressure.
