Do you have a question about the NIBBLE EN 54-2 and is the answer not in the manual?
The NIBBLE FIREWALL is a conventional fire alarm control panel designed for indoor use with low humidity. It offers high security patterns for various applications and complies with EN-54 standards.
The FIREWALL system monitors up to 16 zones, detecting both short-circuits and open-circuits. Each zone can connect up to 32 conventional detectors and any number of manual call points. The system can distinguish between alarms originating from detectors or call points, especially when in "Delay mode."
It includes open-collector programmable auxiliary outputs, one per zone, which can signal failures or alarm detections and sink up to 500mA. Additionally, there are two programmable relays that can signal various failures or fire alarms. A monitored output for sounders provides 24VDC and up to 500mA, with protection against short-circuits and open-circuits.
The control panel features a configurable delay between detection and alarm signaling, allowing users to prevent false alarms. It also provides 24VDC auxiliary outputs for external circuits up to 500mA.

User-Friendly Front Panel: The control panel has a clear interface with LEDs and keys for various functions.
Delay Mode: This feature allows a configurable delay (0s, 15s, 30s, 1min, 2min, 3min) between fire detection and alarm activation. This helps in verifying the alarm's authenticity and preventing false alarms. In "Intelligent zones," the delay is only applied to detections from detectors, not call points.
Intelligent and Automatic Zones:
Open-Collector Auxiliary Outputs: Each zone has an auxiliary output that can be configured to signal a failure or an alarm detection in its corresponding zone. These outputs can sink up to 500mA.
Automatic Test Mode (NEW FW 3.20): The system automatically resets after an alarm, facilitating single-person testing.
Smart Setup (NEW): The FIREWALL can be configured to adapt to any detector, manual call point, or termination resistor, allowing for easy replacement of existing fire alarm panels without circuit modifications.
Access Levels: The system operates with two access levels:
Zone Activation/Deactivation: Zones can be activated or deactivated using the zone key in Level 2.
Sounder Silencing: The internal buzzer and external sounders can be silenced or reactivated.
Reset Function: The system can be reset after an alarm condition.
Configuration Mode: Accessible by removing the frontal cover and switching a jumper (JP1) to ON. This mode allows for:
Maintenance Warning (NEW FW 3.30): The FIREWALL can notify users when it's time for a check-up. The maintenance period can be configured (disabled, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years). When the period is reached, the sounder activates, and the Buzzer LED blinks fast. The timer can be reset via test mode or by setting factory defaults.
Battery Monitoring: The system monitors battery presence and charging status, indicating these with LEDs. It is mandatory to use a lead-acid battery (12VDC, 7Ah or 2x 6VDC, 12Ah in series).
Fuse Monitoring: The system monitors 24VDC fuse, sounder fuse, and main power fuse, indicating failures with LEDs.
Earth Circuit Monitoring: Detects earth leakage currents from 1mA.
System Fault Indication: A microcontroller controls the system, and any system failure is indicated by a yellow LED.
Periodic Testing: It is recommended to periodically test all system functions, with a minimum periodicity of 6 months. Battery level should be verified (above 12VDC for 1 battery or 6VDC for 2 batteries).
Safety Note: Before any maintenance, the control panel should be turned off.
