  If you're getting unexpected results when the flash is set to auto with red-eye reduction on your Nikon Digital Camera, in very rare cases, when V (Auto with red-eye reduction) or the red-eye reduction fill flash or slow-sync fill flash in the Night portrait scene mode is used for flash photography, areas other than red eyes may be corrected. Try setting a flash mode other than V (Auto with red-eye reduction), select a scene mode other than Night portrait, and resume shooting.

Turn off the camera and allow the battery to cool down before resuming use. After the lamp blinks for three minutes, the camera turns off automatically, but you can also press the power switch to turn it off manually.

  Your Nikon Digital Camera might be turning off unexpectedly due to several reasons. It could be that the battery is exhausted, or the camera is turning off automatically to save power. The camera also turns off if the Charging AC Adapter is connected while the camera is on, or if the USB cable connecting it to a computer or printer is disconnected - in this case, try reconnecting the USB cable. If the inside of the camera has become hot, leave it off until it cools down before turning it on again. The camera and battery may also not perform properly if they are cold.
