Function Description

The Nobo NTL Heater is a panel heater designed for domestic household use, providing warmth through convection. It features an integrated timer for scheduled operation and various settings to optimize energy consumption and comfort. The heater can be either wall-mounted or used as a portable unit with optional castors. Its primary function is to heat rooms efficiently while offering control over heating schedules and temperature.

It is not suitable for use in drying rooms, cupboards, or similar enclosed spaces. The product is designed to operate within specific IP zone requirements, which must be adhered to.

Usage Features

The Nobo NTL Heater offers a range of features for user convenience and energy management:

Timer and Programming:

  • Setting Day and Time: Users can set the current day and time through the settings menu, using arrow keys to adjust values and a "Next" key to confirm.
  • Adaptive Start: This intelligent feature allows the heater to begin heating the room before the scheduled heating period to ensure the desired temperature is reached at the programmed start time.
  • Temperature/Override: Users can manually increase or decrease the temperature. There's also an option to cycle through Day/Peak (SUN) or Night/Off-Peak (MOON) modes, or manually switch heat modes by pressing the top left button next to the sun or moon icon.
  • Programming Profiles: The heater supports creating custom heating profiles. This involves selecting days (MO-SU or MO-FR), setting the mode (e.g., SA-SU 08:30, MO-FR 08:00, MO-FR 15:30, MO-FR 22:00, SA 23:30), and defining the start and end times for heating periods.
  • Editing/Deleting Profiles: Existing profiles can be edited by selecting them, entering the profile, cycling through days, changing times, and confirming. Profiles can also be deleted by highlighting the bin icon and confirming.

Safety Features:

  • Thermal Cut-Off: The heater is fitted with a thermal cut-out that automatically switches off the power if it overheats. It will reset and cycle on and off automatically once the reason for overheating is removed.
  • Child Lock (Key Lock): Pressing the pictured buttons simultaneously for 1 second enables or disables the key lock, preventing unintended changes to settings.
  • Overheating Warning: The manual explicitly warns against covering or obstructing the heater, placing materials or garments on it, or obstructing air circulation (e.g., with curtains or furniture) to prevent overheating and fire risk. Heat outlet slots at the top and air inlet slots at the base must never be covered.

Installation Options:

  • Wall Mounted Installation: The heater comes with a wall bracket that must be used for wall mounting. The bracket also serves as a measuring device for placement. Installation involves fastening the bracket to the wall, placing the heater onto the bracket, securing a tilt strap, and clicking the heater onto top catches. Screws are provided to secure the heater safely to the wall.
  • Portable Installation: For well-insulated spaces or occasional use, castors can be attached. This involves assembling the foot onto the frame hole, aligning the product with reference to slots, clicking into place, and fixing/pressing the castor wheels into the feet. A specific screw (M3.5x10) is used for the power supply connection.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines simple maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and performance of the Nobo NTL Heater:

Cleaning:

  • Regular Cleaning: Dust can accumulate on the heater, affecting its performance. It is recommended to clean the unit at least once a month.
  • Cleaning Steps:
    1. Turn the unit OFF and disconnect it from the power supply.
    2. Remove any dust build-up with a soft brush.
    3. Wipe the surface of the unit with a soft damp cloth. Mild detergent can be used for stubborn marks.
  • Important Cleaning Note: The control panel and other parts must not come into contact with water or any other liquids.

Storage:

  • Extended Period Storage: If not using the unit for an extended period, turn it off, unplug it, and take care of the mains lead and plug.
  • Storage Conditions: Store the unit upright in a location where it will not receive direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can discolour the enclosure.

Servicing and Repairs:

  • Authorised Servicing: Servicing and product repairs should only be undertaken by manufacturers' approved service agents or similarly qualified persons, using only exact manufacturer-approved spare parts.
  • Electrical Installation: Any electrical installation must only be completed by an authorised electrician.
  • Damaged Power Lead: If the power lead is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer's service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
  • Troubleshooting: If the unit fails to operate efficiently, is broken, or has other problems, users are advised to call their local after-sales service agent or the Customer Care Centre (1300 556 816 in AU / 0800 666 2624 in NZ).

Disposal:

  • Recycling: The product should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. It should be collected separately. Users are advised to contact their local government for information regarding collection systems. Improper disposal of electrical appliances can lead to hazardous substances leaking into the ground, polluting the food chain, and damaging health and well-being.
