Overview

The Nobsound Douk Audio TA-21 Mini Bluetooth 5.0 Digital Amplifier is a compact and versatile audio device designed to power passive speakers, offering both wireless Bluetooth and wired AUX input options. Its primary function is to amplify audio signals for an enhanced listening experience, making it suitable for various home audio setups.

Function Description:

The TA-21 Mini serves as a stereo power amplifier, capable of driving a range of passive speakers. It features a Bluetooth 5.0 module for wireless audio streaming from compatible devices, as well as a 3.5mm AUX input for connecting wired audio sources. The amplifier is designed for ease of use, with simple controls for power, volume adjustment, and play/pause functionality. An LED display indicates the current volume level, and an input indicator light (blue for Bluetooth, green for AUX) clearly shows the active input mode. The device prioritizes user safety by recommending connecting the power supply to the amplifier first before plugging it into the wall socket, though it notes that minor sparks during connection are normal and safe.

  • Default Power Supply: 12V/5A (Max Output 60W), user-upgradable to DC 9-24V for higher power speakers.

Usage Features:

The amplifier offers straightforward operation:

  1. Power Connection: Always connect the power supply to the amplifier first, then to the wall socket.
  2. Wireless Input (Bluetooth Mode):
    • Connect passive speakers to the amplifier's output using high-quality cables.
    • Long press the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the device. The indicator will flash blue, signifying Bluetooth mode.
    • Enable Bluetooth on your audio source device, search for "TA-21," and connect. The blue indicator will become solid once connected.
  3. Wired Input (AUX Mode):
    • Connect your audio source to the amplifier's 3.5mm AUX input using a high-quality AUX cable.
    • Connect passive speakers to the amplifier's output.
    • Long press the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the device. The indicator will be solid green, indicating AUX mode.
    • Note: If an AUX cable is plugged in, the amplifier will automatically switch to AUX input (green indicator). To use Bluetooth, unplug the AUX cable.
  4. Volume and Playback Control: Use the dedicated buttons to adjust volume, play, or pause music. The volume LED display shows the current level.
  5. Power Supply Flexibility: While it comes with a 12V/5A power supply (60W max output), users can upgrade to a DC 9-24V power supply for speakers requiring higher power. The amplifier requires a minimum of 50W power supply. If the amplifier auto-powers off during use, it suggests that the speakers require a higher power supply, and users should either turn down the volume or use a more powerful supply.

Maintenance Features and Troubleshooting:

The manual provides a comprehensive FAQ section to address common issues:

  • No Sound Output:
    • Check if the indicator is on and if the power button/knob is engaged. If the indicator is off, test with a laptop power supply to rule out machine fault or power failure.
    • If the indicator is on, ensure the VOL knob is not at its minimum position.
    • Verify that the input device is not paused, muted, or has its volume minimized.
  • Sound Distortion: Occurs when output power exceeds the amplifier's normal capacity. Reduce the preamp or power amplifier volume.
  • Electric Noise (Loudspeakers): Often caused by non-original or low-quality power supplies with high interference coefficients. Replace with the original factory standard power supply or a high-quality alternative.
  • Interferential Sound (with signal line connected, no music playing): Use shielded signal lines to prevent interference signals from entering the amplifier. Alternatively, unplug the signal lines when not in use.
  • Amplifier Stops Working (Overheat Protection): If the amplifier stops working and then resumes after a period, it's likely due to overheat protection, indicating the output power exceeded the rated power. Reduce the volume and retry.
  • Volume Differences with Various Audio Sources: Different audio source devices have varying output ranges (e.g., mobile phones typically 0.35mV, CDs 1V). The signal output amplitude directly affects the perceived volume.
  • Initial Sound Quality (Not Optimal): Speakers and amplifiers require a "break-in" period to match and perform optimally. The manual suggests that after approximately 8 hours of use, the sound quality, particularly high frequencies, will improve. New power amplifiers and speakers may need over ten hours for optimal performance.

The Nobsound TA-21 Mini is designed to be a reliable and user-friendly solution for amplifying audio, with features that cater to both casual listeners and those seeking to optimize their home audio experience.
