The Midi Hoard is a waterproof metal detector designed for young treasure hunters. It is the world's first waterproof kids metal detector, suitable for children aged 8-12+.
The device comes in two disassembled pieces. To assemble, first remove the small spongy cable protector from the middle shaft and discard it. Then, engage the shafts together, ensuring the screw hole is centered in the slot. Be careful not to damage the cable during this process. Place the obround piece in the slot with the arch mark facing upwards, and finally, tighten the bolt to secure it.
To adjust the shaft length, open the lever latch, pull the lower shaft down, and after adjusting to the desired length, press the lever latch to secure it. Do not extend the shaft beyond the "max" mark. The coil angle can be adjusted parallel to the ground by loosening the nut, setting the angle, and then tightening the nut back to secure it. The search coil is not detachable; do not attempt to remove it.
To install or replace batteries, remove the screw on the battery compartment cover with a screwdriver. Rotate the cover 1/4 turn as shown in the image and pull it out. Install two AA batteries, paying attention to the positive (+) and negative (-) signs indicated on the sticker. Reattach the battery compartment cover by reversing the above process and secure it by tightening the screw.
The Midi Hoard features several controls and indicators:
If large and/or near-surface targets overload the detector, it will emit a continuous warning sound. In such cases, lift the search coil until the sound stops.
After approximately half an hour of inactivity, the Midi Hoard will start emitting an audible alarm. If the alarm continues for 3 minutes, the device will automatically shut off to conserve battery life.
For accurate results, it is crucial to keep the search coil parallel to the ground at all times during sweeping. Incorrect angles or uneven sweeping will lead to inaccurate detection.
