6 - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON OPERATION
Shutdown inhibition
Possible causes of shutdown inhibition are as follows:
LINE FAULT emergency extension device;
LINE FAILURE emergency cut-off device;
OFF output or siren output.
Low pressure fault
The "Low Pressure" fault is indicated by the activation of the pressure switch input when the UDS-4N is in a condition
other than the "Release Condition". In such a circumstance:
– the "General fault" LED flashes;
– the "Shutdown fault" LED flashes;
– the "General fault" output is activated";
– the "Extinguishing system fault / lockout" output is activated to signal loss of extinguishing agent;
– the Low Pressure fault signal does not reset itself;
In this condition, when an alarm occurs, the "Shutdown" output is activated anyway.
Manual mode only
If this mode is enabled during the "Pre-activated condition", any signal coming from the terminal board (ALL1-ALL2) or
from Loop (as the case may be) is ignored and shutdown activation can only take place from the "Manual shutdown
activation" input.
The display messages shown during the "Pre-activated condition" remain until reset.
Switch-off activation from loop or inputs
The correspondence between the alarm inputs in the terminal block and the emulated CMX input modules in the UDS-
4N is as follows:
ALARM 1 similar to CMX-1
ALARM 2 similar to CMX-2
The 'Activated condition' is given by:
ALARM 1 active and ALARM 2 active;
CMX-1 active and CMX-2 active.
Flow switch input management
Activation of the flow switch input only takes effect when "Flow switch management" is enabled, and in such a case,
even if the UDS-4N is in the "Standby condition", activation of the flow switch input brings the UDS-4N into the "Release
condition".
N.B.: see CONFIGURATION MENU \ Power OFF for more details.
