A double acting 8” stroke hydraulic cylinder connects the cylinder bracket and the pump lever
(B). For in-tank agitation, the cylinder is extended and the lever is in the closed position. Keep
the PTO Shaft running. To spread, the cylinder is contracted and the lever points to spread.
When the cylinder is partially extended, the pump is both agitating and spreading.
Front Pump: Volume Control
See Figure D on the preceding page. The pump lever (B) controls the volume of the spread. The
spread is heaviest when the cylinder is contracted and the lever is pointing to spread. The
volume becomes increasingly lighter as the cylinder is extended.
When filling the manure spreader, the cylinder should be extended and the lever is at closed.
See the MAINTENANCE section in this manual for maintenance requirements on the front
pump.
Deflector Plate Adjustments
Hitch Plate Adjustments
1. Changing the angle of the deflector plate
will modify the spread pattern. Lowering the
deflector plate will produce a finer, wider
spread. Raising the deflector plate will give
more material in the center.
The angle can be adjusted by changing the
adjustment screw (A).
2. As well, a slide plate is bolted onto the
end of the discharge pipe. Loosen the bolts,
and slide the plate to decrease the size of the
opening. The increased pressure will produce a
finer spread pattern.
There are several holes (B) on a hitch and tongue which
allow adjustments to fit various drawbar heights. The
spreader should lean slightly to the front when hooked to
the drawbar, and the tank is fully loaded.
