SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This machine must be firmly secured to a suitable workbench or
otherstableworksurface.
Whenselectingasuitablelocationfor mounting this machine
consideration must be given to the maximum length of the
material to be drilled or machined and the position of the
operator.
Before starting the machine ensure that drills and other
recommended cutting tools are fitted correctly, that all the
securing bolts are tight and all guards are fitted and are operating
correctly and that the chuck key and any other adjustment tools
havebeenremoved.
Keep hands well away from rotating drills and other cutting tools
atalltimes.
When drilling use the correct cutting lubricant/coolant for the
material being drilled. Use only sufficient to prevent the drill
from overheating and make sure that it is kept well away from
electricalcomponents.Neverusewaterasacoolant.
Keep drills, and other cutters sharp and in good condition.
This will improve cutting and reduce the load on the Machine
ensuringalongerlifeofthecuttingtoolsandthemachine.
Use only drill bits, cutters and other accessories recommended
bythemanufacturer.
Selectthecorrectspindlespeedforthesizeofdrillbeingused.
Seetheinstructionmanual.
Do not attempt to modify the machine or its accessories in
anyway.
Do not force the machine let the machine do the work this will
reduce the wear on the machine and cutter and increase its
efficiencyandoperatinglife.
Use approved safety glasses or goggles, face mask and Ear
defenderswhenusingforprolongedperiods.
Whendrillinglonglengthsensurethatthereisadequatesupport
atbothendsofthematerial.
Never use the machine without the safety guards in position and
operatingcorrectly.
Ensure that the work piece is free from any nails or other foreign
objectsthatcoulddamagethedrillsandothercuttingtools.
Alwayssecuretheworkpieceinasuitabledrillvice.Nevertry
andsecuretheworkpiecewithyourhands.
Warning: Be aware that swarf can be very sharp and hot and
canflyofftherotatingdrill.Whenhandlingswarfalwayswear
suitablegloves.Swarfshouldnotbedisposedofwithdomestic
waste,itshouldbedisposedofatarecyclingcentre.
Neverleavethemachinerunningwhileunattended.
Always allow the machine to come to a complete stop and
disconnect from the power supply before leaving the unit
unattended.
NOTE: This manual covers the assembly and operation of
both workbench and floor mounted drilling machines. These
instructions can be used for both types of machine, the only
variation being the location and mounting of the drilling machine
eitheronaworkbenchorontothefloor.

unpackingthisproduct.
UNPACKING
Caution! This packaging contains sharp objects. Take care
when unpacking. This machine could require two persons to
lift, assemble and move this machine. Remove the machine,
together with the accessories supplied, from the packaging.
Check carefully to ensure that the machine is in good condition
andaccountforalltheaccessorieslistedinthismanual.Also
makesurethat all theaccessoriesarecomplete.If any parts
are found to be missing, the machine and its accessories should
bereturnedtogetherintheiroriginalpackagingtotheretailer.
Do not throw the packaging away, keep it safe throughout the
guarantee period, then recycle if possible, otherwise dispose
ofitbythepropermeans.Donotletchildrenplaywithempty
plasticbagsduetotheriskofsuffocation.
LOCATING THE MACHINE
When determining where to locate or permanently fix the
machine,considerationmustbegiventothefollowingpoints.
Isthereasuitablemainsoutletsocketnearby.Ifthemachine
is to be permanently mounted onto a bench is the bench at a
suitable height and is it strong and stable enough to carry the
weightofthemachine.
