Overview

The OEMTOOLS™ 24" Oscillating Misting Wall Mount Fan is a versatile and powerful cooling solution designed for various environments. This fan combines the benefits of a traditional oscillating wall-mount fan with a misting function, providing enhanced cooling, especially in hot and dry conditions. It is ideal for use in workshops, garages, patios, and other areas where air circulation and temperature reduction are desired.

Function Description:

The primary function of this device is to provide air circulation and cooling. It achieves this through a powerful fan blade and an oscillating mechanism that distributes air over a wide area. The integrated misting device adds a fine spray of water to the airflow, which evaporates and cools the surrounding air more effectively than a fan alone. This dual-action cooling makes it particularly effective in environments where heat stress is a concern.

The fan features three adjustable speeds (LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH), allowing users to customize the airflow intensity to suit their comfort needs. The oscillation function can be engaged or disengaged using a dedicated knob, providing flexibility in directing airflow. When the oscillation knob is pressed, the fan head turns, sweeping air across a broader space. Pulling up on the oscillation knob locks the fan head in a fixed position, allowing for targeted airflow.

The misting function is controlled by a separate switch. When connected to a water source, turning the misting switch to "open" activates the misting function, releasing a fine mist into the fan's airflow. Turning the switch to "close" deactivates the misting. This feature is particularly beneficial for outdoor use or in large indoor spaces where evaporative cooling can significantly lower ambient temperatures.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Size: 24 inches
  • Voltage: 120 V/60 Hz
  • Current: 2.0 A
  • CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute): 7,200
  • RPM (Revolutions Per Minute): 1,088
  • Mounting Type: Wall Mount (suitable for concrete walls and wall studs)
  • Speeds: 3 (Low, Medium, High)
  • Oscillation: Yes, with adjustable control
  • Misting Function: Yes, integrated with a water pipe connection
  • Plug Type: GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) plug for enhanced safety

Usage Features:

  1. GFCI Plug for Safety: The fan is equipped with a GFCI plug, which is a critical safety feature. Users are instructed to test the GFCI plug before each use by plugging it into an outlet, pressing the RESET button (indicator turns red), pressing the TEST button (indicator turns off, plug trips), and then pressing RESET again for use. This ensures protection against electrical shock.
  2. Adjustable Air Speed: The fan's three speeds (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH) are controlled by pulling a chain (E) on the unit. This allows for easy adjustment of airflow intensity to match the desired cooling level.
  3. Oscillating Feature: The oscillation knob (D) enables the fan head to turn, distributing air over a wider area. Pushing the knob in activates oscillation, while pulling it out locks the fan head in a fixed position for direct airflow.
  4. Adjustable Tilt Angle: The fan head's tilt angle can be adjusted by loosening a washer nut (1) and then tightening it once the desired angle is achieved. This allows users to direct the airflow vertically.
  5. Misting Function Control: The misting switch (1) connects to a water pipe (2) and controls the activation of the misting function. Turning the switch to "open" starts the misting, and turning it to "close" stops it.
  6. Wall Mounting: The fan is designed for wall mounting, offering two installation methods:
    • Concrete Wall Installation: Involves marking holes using the bracket, drilling pilot holes, inserting wall anchors, and then securing the bracket with screws.
    • Wall Stud Installation: Similar to concrete wall installation, but without the need for anchors, as screws are driven directly into wall studs.
    • Secure Mounting: Emphasizes the user's responsibility to ensure a safe mounting location and surface, as secure mounting is crucial for safe operation.
  7. Assembly Instructions: The manual provides detailed step-by-step instructions for assembling the fan, including attaching the rear guard, fan blade, front guard, and the fan head to the mounting bracket. It also covers connecting the misting switch to the water pipe.
  8. Safety Warnings: Numerous safety warnings are provided, including:
    • Unplugging the fan before moving or maintenance.
    • Not touching the fan with wet hands.
    • Only qualified electricians should disassemble or repair the fan.
    • Not unplugging by holding the cable cord.
    • Not using the fan with damaged cable cord or plug.
    • Avoiding extension cords or ensuring they are UL listed if used.
    • Not using the fan near fire or heat sources.
    • Not inserting hands or objects into the guard or movable parts.
    • Not using with solid-state speed control devices.
    • Not running cord under carpeting or covering it with rugs.
    • Not immersing the fan in water or any liquid.
    • Ensuring the guard is fitted before starting the fan.
    • Supervising children to prevent them from playing with the fan.
    • Placing the fan on a stable, flat, and level surface to prevent overturning.

Maintenance Features:

  1. General Cleaning:
    • Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
    • Do not use water for cleaning metal surfaces.
    • Wipe off the fan surfaces with a soft cloth.
    • To remove dust from the grill, use a vacuum cleaner or remove the front grill by unscrewing the securing screws on the edge of the grill with a screwdriver. After cleaning, remount the grill and fasten the 8 securing screws.
  2. Misting Nozzle Maintenance:
    • If misting nozzles become clogged, remove them from the grill and wash them with water.
    • Use a non-metallic brush to scrub them if necessary.
    • If clogging persists, use a replacement nozzle or contact customer service.
    • Never clear the nozzles with pins or other sharp objects, as this can damage them.
  3. Misting Hose Valve Maintenance:
    • If the misting hose valve becomes clogged, unscrew it from the garden hose.
    • Flush it with running water to remove debris.
    • Ensure the filter washer is clean.

The OEMTOOLS™ 24" Oscillating Misting Wall Mount Fan is a robust and user-friendly device designed to provide effective cooling and air circulation with the added benefit of misting. Its comprehensive safety features, clear usage instructions, and straightforward maintenance guidelines ensure a reliable and long-lasting performance.
