TROUBLESHOOTING
OPERATING PROBLEMS
The camera does not work.
1 The power is OFF.
[ Open the lens barrier to turn on the power. (P. 31)
2 The batteries are loaded incorrectly.
[ Reload the batteries correctly. (P. 25)
3 The batteries are exhausted.
[ Replace the batteries with new ones. (P. 25)
4 The batteries are temporarily unable to function.
[ Keep the batteries warm while using the camera.
5 The camera is set to the stand-by mode.
[ Close and open the lens barrier. (P. 31)
6 The camera is connected to a personal computer.
[ The camera does not work when connected to a computer. (P. 99)
No picture is taken when the Shutter release button is pressed.
1 The flash has not finished charging or the previous picture is being
written into the card.
[ Remove your finger from the Shutter release button and wait until
the Green lamp stops blinking. (P. 40/49)
2 There is no card in the camera or there is a problem with the card.
[ See the Error code chart. (P. 117)
3 The card is full.
[ Replace the card, delete unwanted pictures or transfer the data to
a computer and delete all of the pictures. (P. 28/76/82/97)
4 The batteries ran out.
[ Replace the batteries with new ones. (P. 25)
5 The battery power is low.
[ Replace the batteries with new ones. (Do not open the Battery
compartment cover when the Card access lamp is blinking.) (P. 25)
6 A write-protect adhesive seal is placed on the card or there is no card
in the camera.
[ Insert a new card in the camera. (P. 28)
7 The camera is in the Display mode.
[ Open the lens barrier. (P. 31)
