Overview

The OMRON EQUO Series offers a range of devices for environmental monitoring, including Differential Pressure Stations, Thermo-Humidity Stations, and Air Thermo Loggers. This user manual details the ZN-DPX21-S (Differential Pressure Station), ZN-THX21-S (Thermo-Humidity Station), and ZN-THX11-S (Air Thermo Logger) models.

Function Description

The EQUO Series devices are designed for precise measurement and recording of environmental parameters.

  • ZN-DPX21-S (Differential Pressure Station): This unit measures differential pressure using the ZN-DPS1□□-S Differential Pressure Sensor Head. It offers high-precision measurement with a range of -500 to 500 Pa and a differential pressure accuracy of +/-3% (zero point accuracy of +/-0.2 Pa). The device can connect to a PC via LAN for remote settings and data logging, or operate standalone, recording data to internal memory and outputting it to an SD memory card. It also features alarm output terminals that activate when measured differential pressure exceeds set upper or lower limits.
  • ZN-THX21-S (Thermo-Humidity Station): This station measures temperature and humidity using the ZN-THS1□□-S Air Thermo Sensor Head. It provides high-precision measurements with a temperature resolution of 0.1°C (at 25°C) and humidity accuracy of ±2.5%RH (25°C, 10 to 85%RH). Similar to the ZN-DPX21-S, it supports network connections for PC-based monitoring and control, as well as standalone operation with SD memory card recording. Alarm output terminals are standard, triggering when temperature or humidity exceeds predefined thresholds.
  • ZN-THX11-S (Air Thermo Logger): This device functions as an Air Thermo Logger, also utilizing the ZN-THS1□□-S Air Thermo Sensor Head for high-precision temperature and humidity measurements (0.1°C temperature resolution at 25°C, ±2.5%RH humidity accuracy at 25°C, 10 to 85%RH). It primarily operates standalone, recording data to internal memory and allowing output to an SD memory card via the SET/REC/STOP key. It includes alarm output terminals that activate when measured values exceed set limits.

All models feature a graphical display software for visualizing recorded data as graphs on a PC, allowing for combination of data from different periods and side-by-side display of multiple units' data.

Usage Features

  • Multiple Usage Types: Devices can be used in three ways:
    1. Standalone: Records data to internal memory, which can then be transferred to a PC via an SD memory card for graphical display.
    2. Network Connection (DPX21, THX21): Connects to a PC via LAN (Ethernet) for remote settings, operation (start/stop recording), and logging measured data directly to the PC.
    3. Connecting with Air Particle Sensor (DPX21, THX21): Can be connected to an Air Particle Sensor (ZN-PD□□-S□) via LAN cable. The unit records data from the Air Particle Sensor, which can then be displayed on a PC.
  • Intuitive Operation: Settings are made through a combination of MODE, item select (▲/▼), and SET/REC/STOP keys. The display provides clear indicators for current mode, recording status, alarms, and network connection.
  • SD Memory Card Support: All models support SDHC compatible SD memory cards for data storage and transfer. Data is saved as CSV files.
  • Alarm Output: Standard alarm output terminals provide visual (ALM on display) and electrical signals when measured values exceed or fall below set thresholds. An alarm hold function allows the alarm state to be maintained even after values return to normal.
  • Battery Backup: All models include a battery backup function (two AAA batteries) to prevent data loss and maintain communication/recording during power failures. The ZN-THX11-S offers significantly longer battery life in sleep mode.
  • PC Software: The "Multi Data Viewer Light" PC software provides tools for aggregating, displaying, and analyzing measurement data, as well as managing device settings and logging data from connected devices. The "SD Viewer ES" tool offers graphical displays of data from SD memory cards.

Maintenance Features

  • Easy Battery Replacement: The battery cover is designed for easy access to replace the two AAA batteries.
  • SD Memory Card Management: The manual provides clear instructions for inserting and removing SD memory cards. It emphasizes the importance of formatting SD cards before use and offers a link to download formatting software.
  • Setting Data Backup/Restore: Device settings can be saved to an SD memory card (BCKUP) and restored from it (RESTR), simplifying configuration for multiple units or after a reset.
  • Reset Switch: A reset switch is provided for restarting the unit, particularly useful for error recovery or when an SD card is unavailable during recording stops.
  • Calibration: Calibration is not required for the main unit itself, but for the Differential Pressure Sensor Head (ZN-DPS1□□-S) and Air Thermo Sensor Head (ZN-THS1□□-S), users should refer to their respective Instruction Sheets.
  • Firmware Updates: The manual notes that specifications are subject to change for product improvement, implying that firmware updates may be released.
  • Troubleshooting: The "List of Displayed Errors" section provides guidance on common error codes and corresponding actions to take.
  • Security Measures: For network-connected devices, the manual outlines security measures such as installing antivirus software, physical controls, reducing network connections, using firewalls, VPNs, multifactor authentication, strong passwords, and scanning USB drives to prevent unauthorized access and data tampering.
  • Data Protection: Recommendations include validating backups, checking data scope and validity, and implementing safety designs (e.g., emergency shutdown, fail-soft operation) to protect against unintentional modification or tampering of input/output data.
  • Data Recovery: Regular backup of data is recommended to prepare for data loss.
