What to do if my Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector has poor dust pick-up?
    • S
      Sarah WilsonAug 11, 2025
If your Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector has poor dust pick-up, check for ductwork issues. Ensure the length of duct runs, duct diameters, and hood design align with ductwork design guidance. Seal all ductwork, as even small cracks can cause significant air losses; use silicone, duct tape, or duct mastic compound as a sealant. Check for air leaks between the collector and dust drum. Close any unused blast gates at your woodworking machines. Also, check for restricted pipes, hood ports that are too small, or branch lines that are too small. Make sure your filter is clean.

How to prevent filter clogging in my Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector?
    • K
      Kenneth StephensonAug 22, 2025
To prevent filter clogging in your Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector, consider these points: * If large chips are clogging the filter, check for leaks in the dust bin, flex coupling, or lid. Look for splits or tears in the flex coupling and ensure the dust bin isn't overfilled. Empty the dust bin before dust reaches the top. * If fine dust is clogging the filter, airflow to the collector may be restricted. The collector needs the equivalent of at least a 4” diameter cross-section open to allow adequate air volume. If using a woodworking machine with only a 2” dust port, partially open another blast gate to compensate. Also, heavy sanding with a drum sander or fine grit paper will cause the filter to blind sooner. Clean the filter more often with compressed air.

Why is my Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector motor overheating?
    • E
      Eddie RossAug 31, 2025
The Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector motor may overheat due to air leaks between the dust collector and dust bin, or due to improper wiring. Ensure the dust drum lid is in place with a foam seal and is well-seated. Also, check the flex hose for tears and ensure hose clamps are tight, and inspect the dust barrel for any holes or leaks. Verify wire connections, motor rotation, and check the breaker box to ensure the power supply is correct for the motor.
