Why is there poor dust pick-up at tools with my Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector?
    • G
      Gregg AndersonJul 28, 2025
Poor dust pick-up at your tools when using the Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector can be due to improper motor rotation (running backwards reduces suction by 30%). Also check the length of duct runs, duct diameters, and hood design compared to ductwork design guidance. Make sure all connections to the system are sealed, even small cracks in the ductwork. Use silicone, duct tape, or duct mastic compound as a sealant. Check for air leaks between the collector and dust drum, and ensure that your filter is clean.

What to do if Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector filter is clogging?
    • R
      Rachel ArnoldAug 6, 2025
Filter clogging in your Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector can occur due to: * Large Chips Clogging the Filter: Check for leaks in the dust bin or lid. Make sure the dust bin has not overfilled; empty it before the dust reaches the top. * Fine dust clogging the filter: Air flow to the collector may be restricted. The collector needs the equivalent of at least a 4" diameter cross-section open to allow adequate air volume and speed for pre-separation in the cyclone stage of the collector. If using a woodworking machine with only one 2" diameter dust port, partially open another blast gate to compensate. Heavy sanding with a drum sander or fine grit paper will cause the pleated filter media to bind sooner; clean the filter more often with compressed air.

Why is my Oneida Air Systems Dust Collector motor overheating and tripping?
    • K
      Katherine GonzalesAug 16, 2025
If the motor's internal circuit breaker trips, it indicates overheating. This can be due to several reasons: * Air leaks between the dust collector and dust bin: Ensure the dust drum lid is in place with a foam seal and is well seated. Also, inspect the dust barrel for any holes or leaks. * Improper motor wiring: Verify wire connections, motor rotation, and check the breaker box to ensure the power supply is correct for the motor. * Circuit breaker tripped: The Mini-Gorilla draws approximately 15 amps. Ensure your wiring can accommodate this load and that there are no clogs or debris jamming the fan blade. Never compromise the grounding pin on any plug.
