3. Choose a sample site
• Before testing, make sure you
wash the puncture site with
soap and water. Rinse and
dry thoroughly.
• Choose a spot that is not close
to bone, veins or hair. Massage
the site to increase blood ow.
• Choose a spot with no visible
veins and avoid deep lines,
which may cause your blood
sample to smear.
