What
is
RDS
(RADIO
DATA
SYSTEM)?
The
RDS
function
will
provide
you
with
various
services
to
help
you
choose
a
station
from
the
many
FM
broadcast
stations
available.
It
is
difficult
choosing
one
station
from
among
the
many
broadcast
stations
available,
or
to
choose
the
best
frequency
for
the
desired
program.
This
function
helps
you
choose
a
desired
program
quickly.
The
abbreviations
used
indicate
the
following:
PS:
Program

Name
of
broadcast
station
PTY:
Program
Type:
Program
category
AF:
Alternative
Frequency
list:
Frequency
list
of
the
stations
servicing
the
same
program
in
the
surrounding
area.
PTY
(Program
type)
and
description
News
Current

Light

Serious
classics
Other
music
Short
accounts
of
facts,
events
and
publicly
expressed
views,
reportage
and

Programme
whose
purpose
is
to
impart
advice
in
the
widest
