If
antennas
have
been
connected
to
both
the
A
and
B
FM
antenna
connectors
on
the
rear
panel,
select
the
one
with
better
sensitivity
using
the
ANT
button,
or
the
ANTENNA
button
on the
remote
control.
The
antenna
A/B
selection
status
will
be
memorized
at
the
Preset
Station
Buttons.
RF
MODE
Button
Each
press
switches
between
DX
and
LOCAL.
DX
mode
is
for
weaker,
far
away
FM
stations,
while
LOCAL
mode
is
for
strong
FM
stations
nearby.

To
achieve
more
precise
tuning
of
a
cable
broadcasting
station
when
receiving
a
cable
FM
(TV)
broadcast
(CABLE
Button)
Use
the
UP
or
DOWN
button
to
approximately
locate
the
broad-
casting
frequency
in
50
kHz
steps,
then
use
the
CABLE
button
to
turn
off
FM
muting
and
set
the
tuning
step
to
25
kHz.
The
|
CABLE
indicator
will
light
up
so
that
manual
tuning
of
the
broadcasting
frequency
can
be
performed
using
the
tuning
selector
button.
During
25
kHz
tuning
step
mode,
automatic
tuning
is
disabled.
The
conditions
picked
up
during
this
Tuning
Step
Mode
can
be
placed
in
memory.
NOTE:
When
the
CABLE
mode
is
cancelled,
the
tuning
frequency
returns
to
50
kHz
step
mode.

IF
BAND
Button
When
FM
stations
are
mixed
or
there
is
interference,
this
button
corrects
this
as
much
as
possible.
Each
press
switches
it
as

WIDE/NARROW/S-NARROW.

Wide
mode
(WIDE)
is
selected
for
normal
reception.
Narrow
mode

super

is
selected
when
other
stations
may
be
at
frequencies
that
are
close
to
the
desired
station.
HI-BLEND
Button
Weak
FM
stations
may
exhibit
noisy
and
hissy
sound
quality
in
stereo
mode.
The
high
blend
circuit
blends
only
the
highest
frequencies
into
mono,
while
the
rest
of
the
audio
range
remains
in
stereo,
with
substantially
reduced
noise
and
hiss.
Each
press
switches
between
ON
or
OFF.
MODE
Button
Each
press
of
this
button
switches
between
monaural
and
stereo
(AUTO/MONO).
If
an
FM
station
with
a
very
weak
and
noisy
signal
is
received,
improve
the
situation
by
switching
to
monaural,
even
if
itis a
stereo
broadcast.
When
itis
noisy,
turning
ON
HI-BLEND
is
also
effective.
APR
Button
and
APR
(Automatic
Precision
Reception)
System
(FM
only)
This
unit
is
equipped
with
ONKYO’s
unique
APR
system
that
automatically
controls
the
DX
and
local
RF
modes,
the
Auto
stereo/
Mono
reception
modes,
IF
bandwidth
wide/narrow/super
narrow
setting
and
FM
auto
hi-blend
circuit
according
to
the
quality
(signal
strength,
distortion,
etc.)
of
the
signa!
currently
being
received.
Consequently,
optimum
reception
(the
lowest
distortion
and
high-
est
S/N
ratio)
is
assured
at
all
times.
Note
that
the
APR
system
functions
only
during
FM
reception.
An
RF
mode
selector,
Auto
Stereo/Mono
Selector,
IF
bandwidth
selector
and
auto
hi-blend
selector
are
provided
to
allow
manually
overriding
these
four
APR
controlied
reception
modes.
If
the
station
is
retuned,
or
the
APR
button
is
pressed
again
however,
the
original
APR
selected
modes
will
be
restored.
The
APR
system
functions
automatically
when
using
the
UP
or
DOWN
buttons,
or
direct
tuning.
The
APR
settings
are
memorized
when
the
station
is
memorized.
NOTES:
@
DYNAS
Button
The
DYNAS
function
is
a
system
which
enables
clear
reception
of
FM
stations
that
have
interference
which
cannot
be
removed
even
by
S-NARROW
in
the
FM
station’s
IF
BAND.
A
signal
interfered
with
by
the
broadcast
wave
of
an
adjoining
station,
a
signal
mixed
with
an
adjoining
noise,
or
a
weak
signal
of
a
remote
broadcast
station
can
all
be
received
clearly.
Press
the
DYNAS
button
to
make
the
following
changes:
@
The
RF
MODE,
IF
BAND,
and
HI-BLEND
displays
will
disap-
pear,
and
those
buttons
will
be
disabled.
Pressing
the
DYNAS
button
again
will
cancel
the
function.
@
When
if
is
difficult
to
receive
your
desired
broadcast
station
because
of
too
many
interfering
stations,
the
station
becomes
monaural
even
if
it
is
a
stereo
broadcast,
and
the
stereo
indicator
will
go
out.
©
\fpreset
memory
is
carried
out
when
receiving
with
DYNAS,
the
DYNAS
mode
is
also
preset.
