Multiple Function Display
Power Switch (POWER)
Press once to turn power on and once again to turn power
off. When power is turned on, the volume indicator igthts
and the TX-860/840 will turn on. If this power switch [{]is
not ON, remote control operation is not possible. If youuse
the remote contro! transmitter to turn the power off while this
switch is ON, the stand-by/received indicator will light.
Tape Monitor Button (TAPE-2 MONITOR) and Indicat or
Press this button to use the tape deck connected to the TAPE -2
PLAY/REC jacks for recording, playback or dubbing. The
on the display lights up. Note that dubbing
can only be performed from tape deck 1 to tape deck 2. Iftagpoe
deck 2 is a 3-head model, the just-recorded signal can be
monitored as a recording is being made. The button is ako
enabled by the key on the remote control transmitter.
Input Selector Buttons and Indicators
The button pressed is shown in Display [4]. For FM or ANA,
the band and the frequency are shown.

TAPE-1: Press to listen to the TAPE-1
AM: Press to listen to an AM broadcast
FM: Press to listen to an FM broadcast
PHONO: Press to listen to the turntable
CD/CD DIRECT:
When you select CD DIRECT, you can obtain a “Pure” surad
reproduction, bypassing the Selective Tone/Loudness Corrol,
Simulated Stereo, Bass, Treble and Balance Controls, Dynim ic
Bass Expander (TX-860 only) and Stereo Image Expandy
(TX-860 only), and using only the Volume control.
The [CD DIRECT} on the display lights up.
