Application
To make the device ready for use, please read at rst the safety notes on page 28 and 29
before you follow the installation steps like below.
●
Connect the connecting hose to the pad hose. To do so, insert the metal connector on the
connecting hose into the pad hose.
Attach the VADOplex Pads and make sure that they are positioned properly
(see user manual supplied with pads).
Single patient use only: The pads are to be used for one patient only and may neither
be used for several patients nor refurbished.

The
-button on the left side of the control panel is for the left application.
Simultaneously pressing both
-/ -buttons navigates you to the Device Settings menu
(see Device Settings)

The
-button on the right side of the control panel is for the right application.
The
and
-/ -buttons on the right side of the control panel are for navigation in the
Device Settings menu.
A dierent screen can be displayed depending on the individual start-up settings (for example

The factory default start-up setting is 130 mmHg with a pressure pulse duration of 1 second.
Always chose the modes by pressing the
-button. If you want to change the settings, press
the
-button on the right or left. Press the -button to start the treatment. The pressure
(mmHg) can be changed by pushing the - or -button.
After the application has ended, press the
-button. The programme is stopped. Remove
the pad and switch the controller o using the power switch
E
. Be sure to remove the power
cable from the socket.
Pause mode
If you want to interrupt the Application mode, press the -button. By pressing this button
again, you can continue the application mode.

Rest mode
The Rest mode always sets in when the controller is in operation, but is not actively working.
You can exit the Rest mode by pressing any button.
Timer mode
After the previously set application time has expired (timer), the device enters rest mode.
Note: If 3 seconds application time is set up for both sides, the interval between the
impulses will raise automatically from 20 seconds to 50 seconds! (due to slower venous
refill time with arterial diseases)

Switching off the device
After the application has ended, press the -button. The programme is stopped. Remove
the pad and switch the controller o using the power switch

. Be sure to unplug the
power cable from the socket.
Note: If there is a power outage, the device has to be switched on again (see Starting-
up the Device). In this case, the controller automatically resets to the default factory
settings. Any changes made to the pressure settings/programme are lost and have to be
reset.
Device settings
To enter the device settings menu, both -buttons have to be pressed briey at the same
time during the 5-second countdown (5-4-3-2-1-0) while starting up the device. An overview
for putting the device into operation is found at the front of the instructions for use. (

Three dierent program settings can be pre-selected in the device settings menu:

Switch between the three dierent settings by pressing the -/ -button on the right

Press the - button to conrm the setting and go to the respective submenu. Leave the
submenu by pressing the -button. This takes you back to the selection level. Press the
-button again to return to the application level. An overview of the device settings is
found at the front of the instructions for use.
