What to do if my Optima Digital 1200 shows a Hi-Temp fault?
    • N
      Nancy TranAug 15, 2025
If your Optima Battery Charger displays a Hi-Temp fault, it means the ambient or unit temperature is too high. The charger will automatically resume charging in 3-15 minutes when the temperature decreases. This is common when recharging deeply discharged batteries. Make sure not to block cooling vents and place the charger on a hard surface.

Why does my Optima Battery Charger say 'Out of Range'?
    • A
      Amy WellsAug 19, 2025
If your Optima Battery Charger indicates 'Out of Range' because the battery voltage is high (greater than 17V), first, check for any additional batteries connected and disconnect them. Also, ensure no other charger or maintainer is connected. Make sure the engine is off. It's recommended to have a dealer inspect your battery and charging system.

What to do if my Optima Digital 1200 is unable to charge and shows 'Check Battery'?
    • B
      bowersdanielAug 22, 2025
If your Optima Battery Charger is unable to charge and displays 'Check Battery', check the battery voltage with Pre-Charge Status. If it's greater than 12.0 volts, restart the charger once. If it fails again, or if the voltage is less than 12.0 volts, take the battery to a dealer for testing. Also, double-check to ensure it is a 12 Volt battery.

What to do if my Optima Digital 1200 says 'Check Connection or Battery < 1.25V'?
    • R
      Rebecca CollinsAug 25, 2025
If your Optima Battery Charger displays 'Check Connection or Battery < 1.25V', verify that both leads from the charger are correctly connected to the battery using the correct connection type (clamps or ring terminal). If the battery voltage is too low, return the battery to the dealer for testing. If the battery is under 1.25VDC, another battery may be used in parallel to start the charging process, then be removed. Also, verify the aux. ring terminal connector is securely plugged into the charger.

What to do if Optima Other shows 'Out of Range - Battery > 17V'?
    • H
      Heather BuckleyAug 30, 2025
If your Optima Other shows an 'Out of Range' error because the battery voltage is greater than 17V, first check for any additional batteries connected and disconnect them. Also, make sure there aren't any other chargers or maintainers connected; if there are, disconnect them. Ensure the engine is off. It's advisable to have a dealer inspect your battery and/or charging system.

Why does my Optima Other show 'Charger Hi-Temp - Fault Condition'?
    • I
      ibaileySep 2, 2025
The 'Charger Hi-Temp - Fault Condition' on your Optima Other indicates that the ambient and/or unit temperature is too high for charging. The charger will automatically resume charging when the temperature is appropriate. If you are recharging a deeply discharged battery, this condition is normal to protect both the charger and battery. Charging will resume automatically in 3 to 15 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and battery condition. Ensure that the cooling vents on the bottom of the charger and in the AC coil wrap area are not blocked, and place the charger on a hard surface.

What to do if Optima Other is unable to charge - check battery?
    • C
      chad14Sep 5, 2025
If your Optima Other is 'Unable to Charge' and prompts you to 'Check Battery', verify the battery voltage with the Pre-Charge Status. If the voltage is greater than 12.0 volts, restart the charger once. Do not repeat this more than once. If it fails again, take the battery to a dealer for testing. If the voltage is less than 12.0 volts, also return the battery to a dealer for testing. Make sure the battery is a 12 Volt battery and not a 6 Volt or other unsupported voltage.

What to do if Optima Other displays 'Check Connection or Battery < 1.25V'?
    • M
Ms. Sandra Hernandez MDSep 9, 2025
If your Optima Other displays 'Check Connection or Battery < 1.25V', first verify that both leads from the charger are properly connected to the battery using the correct connection type (clamps or ring terminal). If the battery voltage is too low to accept a charge, return it to the dealer for testing. If the battery is under 1.25VDC, you can use another battery in parallel to start the charging process, then remove it. Also, check that the auxiliary ring terminal connector is securely plugged into the charger.
