The wire delay
Within the frame parameters, there is the value, Weld Pool Building Time. This is the time in
which the welding torch or the tungsten electrode have not yet turned, but only a weld puddle
is formed.
Please think here about manual TIG welding. Also here, the handheld torch remains in rest
position until there is a rotary stirring motion which assures us that we are already achieving
penetration.
If, for example, we wait 5 sec until the weld puddle is formed, it would not make sense to set
the wire delay to 0 sec. That would mean that it is too early for the torch to start (before the
rotation) and there may be a short circuit.
Our synergic help function automatically calculates a lower value than the weld pool building
time, which you can freely change.
The Wire Retraction
This value is also automatically calculated. As a rule, we weld with cold wire up to the
position of 360° (in the picture, 0 ° are given). 0.5 sec. before reaching 360°, the wire is
pulled back so that it stays pointed and does not disturb the overlap (a 365° welding path is
standard) and the down slope.
The Wire Stop
The program says 0°. Thus the wire runs up to the weld end at 365°. We usually enter the
value of 360°.
The Percent Wire Change during the welding process
Here we give the customer the opportunity to set a value (from 0% to 10%). During the
welding process you have the option to change the parameters by pressing the shift key on
the remote control (yellow LED lit) and pressing the button wire plus or minus. Here you can
change max. 50% (both in the high and base current values) in an equal percentage.
