This document describes a 2160p 4:4:4/60 In-line HDMI Scaler with 7.1 Audio Downmixing and eARC, designed to process and manage HDMI audio and video signals.
The device acts as an audio and video processor, capable of extracting HDMI audio signals (IIS or S/PDIF), decoding various Dolby and DTS audio formats (Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD Master Audio), and outputting 2.0CH LPCM audio. It can also process LPCM audio up to 7.1 channels, downmixing it to stereo (LPCM 2.0) for output via HDMI OUTPUT 2 (audio only), digital (optical and coaxial), or RCA (analog) audio ports.
A key feature is its support for ARC/eARC functionality. Audio returned from a TV via ARC/eARC can be processed and output through digital and analog audio ports, or directly embedded into HDMI and output via HDMI OUTPUT 2. This is particularly useful for traditional AVRs that may not support high-bandwidth audio formats, allowing users to achieve high-quality audio by embedding it into HDMI.
The HDMI OUTPUT 1 port supports video resolutions up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and can operate in Bypass mode or Downscale to adapt to different display devices. HDMI OUTPUT 2 is dedicated to audio output, providing high-bandwidth and high-quality audio for traditional AVRs. The audio from HDMI OUTPUT 1 can be either bypassed or downmixed to 2CH.

Dual HDMI Outputs: Supports two HDMI OUTPUT ports simultaneously. HDMI OUTPUT 1 can downscale 4K to 1080p, while HDMI OUTPUT 2 is primarily for audio output to traditional AVRs. Audio Downmixing: Capable of downmixing Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio to 2CH for output via coaxial, fiber optical, and stereo audio ports. Simultaneous Audio Output: Audio can be output simultaneously through HDMI, analog, and digital audio ports (coaxial and fiber optical). The analog audio port specifically supports 2CH Downmix audio output. Audio Extraction: Audio can be extracted even without connecting any HDMI receiver devices, provided there is an HDMI signal input. High-Resolution Audio Input: Supports input audio formats up to 24bit 192KHz. Output Audio Control: Output audio can be controlled via API commands, including volume adjustment (increase/decrease) and mute/unmute functions. Advanced EDID Management: Manages communication between the EDID and the signal source using the EDID of the display or internal storage. LED Indicators: Features LED indicators for power, status, and audio formats. 8-position DIP Switch: Provides control over downscaling, downmixing, ARC/eARC function, HDMI audio embedding, and EDID management. If all 8 DIP switches are in the "off" position, the entire system can be controlled via API commands. HDCP Switching: When HDMI OUTPUT 1 resolution is downscaled from 4K to 2K, the corresponding HDCP version automatically switches from 2.2 to 1.4. RS-232 Control: The device supports RS-232 command control for integration with PC or control systems, allowing for comprehensive management of settings and functions.
Surge Protection Recommendation: The manual strongly recommends using surge protection systems to protect sensitive electrical components from damage due to electrical spikes, surges, electric shock, or lightning strikes, thereby extending the life of the equipment. User Manual: A comprehensive user manual is provided to guide users through connection, operation, and adjustment, and is recommended for future reference. Default Settings: The device can be reset to default settings via RS-232 command.
