What to do if my Panasonic DVD-S42 DVD Player is not responding?
    • J
      Janet DanielAug 15, 2025
If your Panasonic DVD Player isn't responding to button presses, it might be due to lightning, static electricity, or another external factor. Try turning the unit off and then back on. Alternatively, turn it off, disconnect the AC power cord, and then reconnect it. If condensation has formed inside the unit, wait 1 to 2 hours for it to evaporate.

Why won't my Panasonic DVD-S42 DVD Player start or show subtitles correctly?
    • G
      greg36Aug 18, 2025
If your Panasonic DVD Player isn't starting playback, displaying subtitles incorrectly, or showing no subtitles, it could be due to a few reasons. This unit may not play WMA and MPEG4 that contains still picture data. If playing DivX VOD content, refer to the homepage where you purchased the DivX VOD content. If a disc contains CD-DA and other formats, proper playback may not be possible. You can adjust the subtitle position using the “Subtitle Position” setting in the Display Menu. Make sure to display the subtitles and note that A-B Repeat is canceled when you press [QUICK REPLAY]. Also, repeat play may be canceled when you press [MANUAL SKIP] or [ADVANCED DISC REVIEW].
