Frequently asked questions
Are the Humidity indicator or
Hybrid indicator very bright?
● These indicators can be turned off while you are
sleeping.
→ Press down on the and
buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds.
(If you would like them to illuminate again, press
the buttons again for 3 seconds.)
Has the Hybrid indicator turned off?
● The Hybrid indicator sometimes turns off during
“Auto” operation and Keep dry operation when
drying clothes.
Does the air amount stay the same
even when the operating mode
changes? Does the air amount
change automatically?
● If the room temperature is higher than
approximately 30°C or lower than approximately
10°C, the air volume will increase automatically in
order to protect the unit.
● If frost forms on the cooler while the unit is
operating, defrosting operation will start and run for
approximately 10 minutes, and the air volume will
increase during this time. (Once defrosting has
finished, the operation mode will return to the mode
which has been set.)
Is the room temperature rising
when the unit operates?
● This product does not include a function for cooling
rooms. Heat is always generated while the unit is
operating, and if windows and doors are also shut
at the same time, the room temperature may
increase by approximately 1° - 8°C.
→If this is a problem for you while the unit is
operating, use “Auto” mode (page 9) for
dehumidifying the room, as this mode will tend to
cause the room temperature to rise by less
compared to other modes.
● During cool air operation also, the dehumidifier will
not cool the whole of the room in the same way an
air conditioner does.
Is operation noisy?
Is the unit making a noise?
● Is the filter blocked? (Page 15)
● Is the floor surface unstable?
A swishing sound or the sound of water running is
the sound of the cooling gas flowing inside the unit.
● The noise may also become
louder at any of the following
times.
· When operation starts or
when the mode changes at
cold room temperatures.
· When operation starts or
stops or when the louver is
swinging
· A clicking may be heard
while the unit is operating or
when a button is pressed.
Is the humidity gauge incorrect?
● The humidity indicators are to be
used as a guide only, and the
readings may differ from other
humidity gauges in the room.
● The humidity can vary depending
on several factors such as change
in temperature, the flow of air in
the room, and it can also be
affected by dehumidified air in
confined spaces.
Has operation stopped?
● If no buttons are pressed for 24 hours, operation
will stop automatically to prevent the dehumidifier
from staying on too long.
● When the dehumidifier is operating in “Auto” mode,
the dehumidifier will stop operating when the
humidity reaches approximately 55% or below. (If
the humidity increases, operation will start again.)
Are odors coming out of the unit?
● If there is any of the following items emitting odors
in the room, the odors may be absorbed by the unit
and then re-emitted. (Such odors can be emitted
particularly when the unit starts operating.)
· New furniture or wallpaper
· Hair spray, other hair products, cosmetics or
chemicals
→ If these are of concern, ventilate the room
thoroughly.
Troubleshooting
Symptom What to check
The Full Tank indicator is
flashing even though the
tank is not full.
Are the tank and float correctly installed inside the unit? (Page 14)
● Was the tank banged against the unit during insertion? (Page 13)
→ Remove the tank and then reinstall it gently.
Condensation forms all
the time even during
dehumidifying.
● It may not be possible for dehumidifying to be fully effective in
places such as near windows which face into the outside air, or
behind furniture where air circulation is poor.
The room humidity does
not go down.
Are doors or windows being opened too often?
● Is there a kerosene heater or other device giving off water vapor in the room?
The Alert indicator
illuminates and the “4
hrs.” Timer indicator or
the “Hi” dehumidifying
indicator flashes.
● Is the filter clogged (page 15), or is something blocking the air inlet or
air outlets? (Pages 5, 7)
● Is the humidity in the room too low? (Page 18)
Allow the unit to cool for 30 minutes or so, then start operation
again in a location with humidity of at least 20%.
Only the Alert indicator is
illuminated.
● Is the unit tipped over?
Disconnect the power plug and set the unit back upright. (Wipe
away any spilled water.)
Let the unit stand for half a day or more without using it (to let
the inside of the unit out completely in case any water has
spilled inside).
Insert the power plug again and restart the unit.
● Is the unit tilted or has it fallen over?
→ Disconnect the power plug and then reconnect it.
Have any magnets or metallic objects been placed on top of the unit? (Page 7)
→ Disconnect the power plug and then reconnect it.
Clothes do not dry
completely.
● Does the item still need to be spin-dried or was it just handwrung?
● Is there a heater in use near the unit? (If the surrounding temperature
is too high, the sensor will be unable to accurately judge the drying
time.)
● Is the air from the unit flowing directly onto the clothes?
Are the clothes hung too closely together or in layers?
Water is leaking.
● Has the unit been tilted or knocked over?
● Was the unit moved while there was still water in the tank? (Pages 5, 6)
● Has the float come off? (Page 14)
The tank does not fill up
with water.
(The unit is not
dehumidifying very well.)
● Is the filter clogged (page 15), or is something blocking the air inlet or
air outlets? (Pages 5, 7)
Are the room temperature and humidity low? (The unit dehumidifies
less as the room temperature and humidity become lower.)
● Is the unit set to operate in “Auto” mode? (Page 16)
Buttons do not operate.
● Is the Full Tank indicator flashing (page 13) or is the Alert indicator
illuminated? (See below.)
It takes a long time to dry
clothes.
● Is wet, cold air entering the room?
Avoid open doors and windows as much as possible while drying clothes.
The Alert indicator is illuminated
and other indicators are flashing.
Contact the place where the dehumidifier was purchased for repairs.
Cool air does not come
out straight away.
● In order to protect the unit, room air may be emitted for the first 3
minutes after operation starts.
First, check the following. If this does not solve the problem, be sure to disconnect the power plug, and then ask the
place where the dehumidifier was purchased to carry out inspection and repairs.
If the following happen, disconnect the power plug and carry out the checks which are given.
