15. Connecting to external devices

USB connections
Connect the unit and a computer with a microUSB cable (commercially available),
and use it as a removable disk.
This allows data to be backed up to the computer, or transfer data with the unit as
USB storage.

From the Home screen > [ ] > [ ] > [Storage].

[] > [USB computer connection].

Turn the [Media device (MTP)] checkbox on.
Configure [Camera (PTP)] when connected to a computer that does not support MTP.

Connected the unit to a computer with a microUSB cable (commercially
available).

Access the unit from the computer when it is recognised as a removable disk.
Connecting to a Mac
If you are using Mac OS X, software must be installed on the computer in advance to establish a media device
(MTP) connection.

Disconnecting
Check that no data is being transferred, and remove the microUSB cable (commercially available).
Do not remove the microUSB cable (commercially available) while data is being transferred. Doing so may
cause the data to become corrupted.
