This document provides operating and installation instructions for a Panasonic Fully Automatic Washing Machine (Domestic use), specifically models NA-F100X1, NA-F90X1, and NA-F85G1.
Function Description
This washing machine is designed for domestic use, offering fully automatic operation for various laundry needs. It features a top-loading design with a pulsator for washing clothes. The machine includes an ECONAVI function, available in the Normal program, which automatically adjusts operation time and water level based on the detected amount of laundry and water temperature, aiming for energy efficiency.
Usage Features
The washing machine offers a variety of programs and options to cater to different types of laundry and user preferences:
Programs:
- Normal: For daily washing of everyday clothes.
- Speedy: For quick washing of lightly soiled items.
- Delicate: Designed for gentle washing of delicate clothes and stylish garments.
- Fragrance: Allows for a stronger scent by enabling the addition of extra softener during the wash cycle.
- Soak: Includes a presoaking phase for heavily soiled clothes.
- Heavy: Features presoaking followed by powerful swirling water for heavily soiled items.
- Baby-care: Provides thorough rinsing for clothes belonging to babies and people with sensitive skin.
- Blanket: Specifically for washing washable blankets.
- Air Dry: A program for drying synthetic fiber clothes by removing water with air blown by tub rotation.
- Tub Hygiene: A maintenance program for preventing black mold and smell by cleaning the tub.
Operation Panel and Settings:
The operation panel allows users to:
- Change Water Level: Adjust the water level during the wash process, with 10 available options. The panel also displays a detergent volume guideline based on the selected water level.
- Water Level/Remaining Time Display: After starting, it shows the current water level and then switches to display the approximate remaining time in minutes.
- Preset Function: Users can set a time (in hours) for the washing to finish, ranging from 2 to 24 hours later (with specific ranges for certain programs). This function is not available for Delicate, Fragrance, Blanket, Tub Hygiene, and Air Dry programs.
- Change Process Settings: The combination of wash, rinse, and spin processes, as well as their time lengths or number of times, can be adjusted. This can only be done during the wash process after starting operation by pressing "Start/Pause".
- Power On/Off: Controls the machine's power.
- Start/Pause: Initiates or pauses the selected program.
Detergent and Softener Use:
- Detergent, bleach, and softener should be added to their respective inlets according to the water level displayed and package instructions.
- Detergent should not be put directly into the tub to prevent it from remaining undissolved.
- Chlorine bleach should not be used for colored clothes or the Delicate program. After using chlorine bleach, the tub should be washed with the Tub Hygiene program without bleach.
- Softener is automatically released during the final rinse. Up to 70 ml can be added, or the Fragrance program can be used for more. Concentrated softener should be diluted with water.
Laundry Preparation:
- Pre-laundry check: Remove coins, pins, paper clips, nails; fasten buttons and zippers; avoid washing paper diapers; reverse clothes that may flake; remove pet hair/sand; tie strings.
- Delicate underwear: Use laundry nets for underwire brassieres, lacy clothes, lingerie, and stockings. Avoid overpacking nets and ensure the zipper slider is covered. Do not use the Air Dry program for items in nets.
- Separate washing: Wash clothes that lose color easily separately. Also, separate lint producers (towels, sweaters) from lint collectors (polyester pants, fleece jackets).
Specific Program Usage:
- Delicate: Load laundry evenly, placing items that float easily first and pressing them down. Use laundry nets for delicate underwear. Use liquid delicate detergent and remove clothes immediately after operation to prevent wrinkles and color staining.
- Blanket: Washable blankets (100% synthetic fiber or cotton, 4.2 kg or less) with a machine-washable tag should be put in a net and rolled into the tub with the zipper facing up. Use liquid detergent. The water level is fixed at maximum.
- Air Dry: Suitable for synthetic fiber clothes, 2 kg or less. The drying process takes 90 minutes. Clothes may not be completely dry depending on various factors.
Maintenance Features
The washing machine includes several maintenance features to ensure its longevity and optimal performance:
Lint Filter:
- The lint filter should be cleaned after each operation.
- To clean, remove the filter, open it, and remove lint. If lint is difficult to remove, soak and wash the filter in water.
- Reattach the filter in its original position.
- It is important not to wash laundry without the filter to prevent damage to clothes. If the filter is broken, a new one should be purchased.
Tub Cleaning:
- Air Dry (once a week): Run the Air Dry program without loading laundry after operation ends.
- Tub Hygiene (once a month): Turn on the water faucet, power on the machine, select Tub Hygiene, and press start without loading laundry. After the tub fills, pause the operation, add approximately 200 ml of chlorine bleach, close the lid, and restart. The tub cleaning ends after approximately 2.5 hours.
Water Supply Filter:
- If water flow is slow, the water supply filter may be clogged.
- To clean, turn off the water faucet, power on, then power off after about 40 seconds. Loosen the nut, remove the hose, and remove dirt from the filter.
- The feeding valve should be cleaned frequently if there are impurities in the water supply.
Main Unit and Lid:
- If stained with detergent or softener, wipe with a soft cloth. For heavy soil, use a neutral kitchen detergent. Avoid splashing water.
Convenient Functions:
- Cancelling End Buzzer: The end buzzer can be cancelled by pressing and holding the "Start/Pause" button for 3 seconds after turning the power on.
- Child Lock: This function prevents children from falling into the tub. If the lid is opened during operation, a buzzer sounds, and water is flushed out if not closed within 10 seconds. This function does not lock the lid or button operations. To activate, close the lid, turn on power, and press and hold "Air Dry (90 min)" for 5 seconds.
- Turning the Tub by Hand: If it's difficult to reach the detergent or softener inlet, the tub can be turned clockwise by hand after turning on the power and hearing a clicking sound. The tub cannot be turned if there is water in it or if "Start" is pressed.
Troubleshooting and Error Display:
The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues like:
- Time indication problems (increases, longer than expected).
- No operation.
- No water supply or abnormal water supply during wash.
- Incorrect water level.
- Operation starting with rinse when not intended.
- Irregular rotation during spin.
- Power failure/breaker tripped.
- Water outage.
- Inability to select Fragrance program.
It also details error displays (U 11, U 12, U 13, U 14, U 99, H--) with corresponding checks and solutions, such as checking the drain hose for blockages, ensuring the lid is closed, distributing clothes evenly, checking water supply, and unplugging for forced drain errors or inspection.
