Overview

This document provides operating instructions for the Panasonic S-100PK3R Wall Mounted (Type K3) Indoor Unit, a commercial air conditioner. It covers safety precautions, important technical specifications, usage features, and maintenance guidelines.

Function Description

The Panasonic S-100PK3R is a commercial air conditioner indoor unit designed to provide comfortable room conditions. It is a wall-mounted unit that operates as part of a larger air conditioning system. The unit is capable of both cooling and heating, utilizing outside air for heating, though its heating performance may reduce as outside temperature decreases. In such cases, an additional heating appliance might be necessary. The air conditioner also features a "DRY" operation mode, where it automatically cycles on and off to maintain a set room temperature, with fan speed adjusting to a "breeze" (light wind) as the room temperature approaches the set level. The unit is designed to resume operation automatically with prior settings in the event of a power failure.

Important Technical Specifications

The S-100PK3R operates on a power source of 230-240 V~ 50 Hz.

The unit uses a flammable refrigerant, and specific warnings are provided regarding its handling and storage to prevent ignition hazards. The appliance should be stored in a well-ventilated area without continuously operating ignition sources.

Usage Features

The air conditioner is controlled via a remote controller, with options for a Timer Remote Controller, High-spec Wired Remote Controller, and a standard Wired Remote Controller. Users are advised to refer to detailed manuals, accessible via a 2D barcode, for comprehensive operation instructions.

Safety Guidelines for Usage:

  • Confirm the specified refrigerant type with an authorized dealer or specialist to avoid product damage or injury.
  • The unit does not have a ventilator for intaking fresh air; frequent opening of doors and windows is recommended when using gas or oil heating appliances in the same room to prevent suffocation.
  • Never use or store flammable vapors or liquids near the unit.
  • Do not use the appliance in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
  • Avoid touching the unit with wet hands.
  • Do not insert fingers or other objects into the indoor or outdoor unit to prevent injury from rotating parts.
  • Do not use modified cords, joint cords, extension cords, or unspecified cords to prevent overheating and fire.
  • The appliance should be stored in a room without continuously operating ignition sources.
  • Ensure the installation area is constructed to prevent refrigerant leaks from stagnating and creating fire or explosion hazards.
  • After installation, users should inquire about the room's floor space and refrigerant charge amount from the installer.
  • Do not use means to accelerate defrosting or cleaning other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not pierce or burn the unit.
  • Ventilation openings must be kept clear of obstruction if mechanical ventilation is required.
  • The appliance is intended for use by expert or trained users in commercial settings, or by lay persons with supervision.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • Maintain a distance of at least 1.5 m between the unit and fire alarms/air outlets.
  • Avoid overcooling or overheating the room if babies or invalids are present.
  • Always use the ON/OFF operation button on the remote controller, not the power mains switch, to turn the air conditioner on and off.
  • Do not stick anything into the outdoor unit's air outlet due to the high-speed rotating fan.
  • Avoid touching the air inlet or sharp aluminum fins of the outdoor unit to prevent injury.
  • Do not stick any object into the FAN CASE to prevent injury or damage.
  • Do not sit or step on the unit to prevent accidental falls.

Abnormality/Failure Procedures: In case of any abnormality (e.g., frequent ELCB trips, unit not starting, power disconnection when cord is moved, burnt odor, abnormal noise, deformed/hot body, water leaks, hot power cord/plug, uncontrolled fan speed, unit stopping immediately after being switched on, or fan not stopping after operation ends), stop using the product immediately, disconnect power, and contact your local dealer for maintenance/repair.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the air conditioner's performance and longevity.

General Maintenance:

  • Before cleaning, ensure the air conditioner is turned off and the power is disconnected to prevent electric shock or injury from rotating fans.
  • Do not pour water on the indoor unit, as this can damage internal components and cause electric shock.
  • Wipe the indoor unit with a soft cloth. If it's very dirty, use a cloth moistened with water.
  • Never use solvents or harsh chemicals, nor wipe plastic parts with very hot water, as this can cause deformation or discoloration.
  • Be cautious of sharp metal edges and fins when cleaning to avoid injury.
  • Use a firm stool or ladder when cleaning an indoor unit installed in high locations.
  • The internal coil and other components of the outdoor unit must be cleaned periodically by a dealer or service center. Users should not attempt to clean inside the indoor and outdoor units themselves.

Air Filter Maintenance:

  • Consult your dealer or service center when the "Filter" indicator appears on the wired remote controller display.

Defrosting Operation:

  • The appliance may initiate a defrosting operation to melt frost on the outdoor unit.
  • During "Defrosting starts," the indoor unit fan stops or runs at a very slow speed, and the "STANDBY" indicator appears.
  • During "Heating operation resumes after several minutes," the indoor unit fan remains stopped or runs slowly until the indoor heat exchanger coil warms up sufficiently, and the "STANDBY" indicator persists.
  • Once "Defrosting is complete," the indoor unit fan starts operation, and the "STANDBY" indicator disappears.

Product Information for Service: For any problems or questions, users will need the Model No., Serial No., Date of purchase, Dealer's address, and Phone number, which are typically found on the nameplate.
