A. METAL TRUSS SUPPORTED CEILINGS
Figure 5 shows a unit suspended from a metal truss supported ceiling. Care must be taken to
determine that the truss will be sufficient to support the weight. As shown, angle iron braces are
secured between two steel trusses. One-half inch threaded rods are threaded into weld nuts at the
corners of the unit. Rod length should be kept to a minimum.
B. COLUMN OR WALL MOUNTING
Units may be suspended from a cantilevered frame from which the 1/2” threaded rods are suspended.
Rods are attached as described above for ceiling-mounted units.
4.2 Drive Set
Front-Load Model: A direct drive motor is used and no adjustments are needed.
Side-Load Models: Check the blower-motor drive belt for proper tension. About 1/2” deflection with
finger pressure at midpoint between pulleys indicates normal belt tension. Drive pulleys and belts have
been selected to provide proper airflow at the deign static pressure specified. To access the blower
compartment, see Figure 6.
1. Disconnect power to blower.
2. Reach through filter compartment for access to thumbscrew.
3. Rotate captive thumbscrew until blower compartment door is released.
4. Reverse above operation for closure.
