For a warm start it is not neces-
sary to press the primer (32).
If the primer is pressed too often, too
much petrol will enter the carburettor
and the motor is difcult to start.
Stopping the engine:
Release the safety bracket (2). The engi-
ne switches off and the blade is braked.
Blade stopping device:
Regularly examine the blade stopping
device:
Release the safety bracket (2). The engi-
ne switches off and the blade is braked.
The blade must stop within 7 seconds.
Mowing
1. Start the engine (see “Starting/stop-
ping the engine”).
2. Hold the handlebar (1) and the safety
bracket (2) with both hands while mo-
wing.
Working instructions
General working instructions
If possible, mow dry grass to go gentle
on the sod.
Adjust the cutting height so that the de-
vice is not overloaded.
Move the device at walking speed and
in lines as straight as possible. For a
awless mowing result, the lines should
always overlap by a few centimetres.
Do not move backwards.
Always move across the slope when
working on hills.
If the blades come into contact with
a foreign object, turn the engine off
immediately. Wait until the blade co-
mes to a stop and check the device for
damage. Only continue working if the
device is undamaged.
Switch off the device during longer
breaks or when transporting it and wait
until the blade has stopped moving.
Clean the device after each use, as
described in the section “Cleaning/
storage“.
Setting the cutting
height
The device has 7 positions
for setting the cutting height
(25/30/38/45/55/65/75mm):
1. Turn the lever (17) outward to set the
cutting height.
2. Move the lever to the desired position
(33) to set the cutting height.
3. Release the lever (17) for setting the
cutting height.
The correct cutting height is between
30and 45mm for an ornamental lawn
and about 40 - 65 mm for a utility lawn.
A high cutting height should be
selected for the rst mowing of the
season.

Fill level indicator:
You can see when the grass collection box
(21) is full through the ll level indicator
(23) on the side of the grass collection box
(21).
