5. How to use
Hardware elements
Gea24 consists of a control unit and one or two 12 channel seismic cables, equipped with
12 single takeouts and terminated with standard connectors Cannon NK2721C (cable
adapters with a 24 takeout land streamer are available on request).
The instrument's standard equipment includes:
- Control unit Gea24
- USB cable for PC connection
- Trigger System (geophone or piezoelectric)
- USB Stick Gea24 containing manual and software
- Registration card
You can connect Gea24 to a laptop or tablet PC via USB cable; the Gea24 is also powered
by the PC itself, so you do not need an external 12V battery.
The instrument is supplied with a USB key containing documents, manuals and the Gea24
management software to be installed on your PC (to run this, simply double-click on the
file name).
Two-unit Gea24 can be "serialized" to get a complete system of 48 channels, simply by
connecting them to two USB on the same PC.
Chapter 6 will explain in detail how to proceed with the configuration of one or both
instruments.
