This document describes the Patriot Lighting® 36FT LED RGB String Light, Model Number: 0106-0003, a portable outdoor lighting product designed for seasonal use. The string light provides illumination and color control, making it suitable for various outdoor settings.
The Patriot Lighting® 36FT LED RGB String Light is an electrical device that provides light using LED lamps. It operates at 120V, 60Hz, with a total power consumption of 9W per string. The product is designed for outdoor use and features RGB+WW (Red, Green, Blue + Warm White) S14 lamps, allowing for a range of color options. It includes a 24V plug-in power supply with an adaptor for connecting to an appropriate power outlet. The string light can be controlled via a handheld remote control, which manages on/off functions and color selection. The remote control uses a CR2025 battery. The string light is also designed to be extendable, allowing multiple units to be connected in series to achieve a longer illuminated length, up to a maximum of 144 feet or 4 units.
The string light is intended for seasonal outdoor use and is not designed for permanent installation. When setting up the string light, it is crucial to ensure that the wall switch and circuit breaker are on. The lamps are designed to be replaceable; if a lamp burns out, it can be removed by gently gripping and turning it counter-clockwise, then replaced with a new 24V 0.5W S14 lamp by aligning the groove on the socket with the bolt on the lamp and turning it clockwise until fully seated. It is important to only use the provided spare lamps for replacement.
For installation, all parts should be carefully removed from the packaging and laid out on a smooth workspace. The string light (A) should be uncoiled, taking care not to cut or damage the string or pre-attached lamps. All 18 pre-attached lamps must be securely affixed to their respective sockets by gently turning each lamp (C) clockwise, avoiding over-tightening. The 24V plug-in power supply with adaptor (B) connects to the light string (A) by pushing the male and female end connections together and then tightening the screw-on connection cover. The string light should be securely attached to a support structure using the eyelet holes at the top of each suspended socket. Appropriate supporting hardware, such as eyebolts or brackets, is not included and must be sourced separately. It is critical that string light sockets are suspended so that lamps face downwards, and the light string should not be mounted with sockets facing upward. Lamps should hang freely with at least 3 inches of space from the nearest object. Once installed, the 24V plug-in power supply with adaptor (B) can be plugged into an appropriate power outlet.
The handheld remote control (D) is used for on/off control and color selection. Before first use, a plastic tab must be removed from the battery door. The control on the adaptor (B) also offers on/off and color control. To replace the remote control's battery, follow the directions on the back of the remote control (D) to slide the battery drawer out, replace the CR2025 battery with the positive side up, and slide the drawer back into place.
For extending the series, all string lights must be unplugged before adding additional segments. The end cap from the last string light (A) in the series is removed by unscrewing it. Two string lights are then connected by pushing the male and female end connections together and tightening the screw-on connection cover. Ensure that the new last string in the series still has its end cap attached. Only Patriot Lighting® 346-1102 36FT LED RGB String Lights should be used for extension.
Safety precautions are paramount. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection should be provided on circuits or outlets used for the product. Only outdoor extension cords of specific types (e.g., SEW, SEOW, SEOOW, SOW, SOOW, STW, STOW, STOOW, SJEW, SJEOW, SJEOOW, SJW, SJOW, SJOOW, SJTW, SJTOW, or SJTOOW) should be used. The product should not be mounted or placed near gas or electric heaters, fireplaces, candles, or other similar heat sources. Wiring should not be secured with staples or nails, nor should lamps rest on the supply cord or any wire. The product should be unplugged when leaving the vicinity or when unattended. This is an electrical product and not a toy; it should be kept out of reach of small children. It should not be used for purposes other than its intended use. Ornaments or other objects should not be hung from the cord, wire, or light string. Doors or windows should not be closed on the product or extension cords, as this can damage wire insulation. The product should not be covered with cloth, paper, or any non-product material when in use. This product uses push-in type lamps, which should not be twisted. The product should not be operated with missing lamps; missing lamps must be replaced promptly. This product does not contain lamp shunts, meaning it will not operate if one lamp burns out.
Proper care and maintenance ensure the longevity and safe operation of the string light. If the product is placed on a live tree, the tree must be well-maintained and fresh, with needles that are not brown or easily broken. The tree holder should be kept filled with water. The tree itself should be securely secured and stable.
Before each use or reuse, the product should be carefully inspected. Any products with cut, damaged, or frayed wire insulation or cords, cracks in lamp-holders or enclosures, loose connections, or exposed copper wire should be discarded. When storing the product, it should be carefully removed from its placement (trees, branches, bushes) to avoid undue strain or stress on conductors, connections, and wires. When not in use, the string light should be stored neatly in a cool, dry location, protected from sunlight.
In case of troubleshooting, if the light does not come on, first ensure the wall switch and circuit breaker are on. If a lamp has burned out, follow the replacement procedure described above. If these steps do not resolve the issue, a certified electrician should be consulted.
The device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules, meaning it may not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. If interference occurs, measures such as reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting equipment into a different outlet, or consulting a radio/TV technician may help.
The product comes with a five-year limited warranty. If the lighting fixture breaks or fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within five years from the original purchase date, the product, along with the original sales receipt, can be returned to a Menards® retail store for repair or replacement. This warranty excludes expendable parts (like light bulbs), damage from abuse or misuse, and any associated losses, labor, injuries, or costs.
