General Orifice Replacement Procedure
Use this procedure for Orifice Replacement Kit or Gas Conversion Kit, (see Tables 3 and 4 for Parts List).
1. Turn off the electrical supply to the heater; turn off the pump; turn off the manual gas supply valve to the heater.
2. Unbolt and remove the access door panels.
3. Unscrew completely the 3/4" gas line union.
4. Remove the gas orifice and o-ring contained in the
union.
5. Install the o-ring on the new orifice, see
Figure 3. Verify
the correct size of the orifice included in your kit (see
Parts List).
6. Insert the new orifice squarely in the gas line union.
7. Tighten union securely.
8. Replace the access door panels; tighten bolts.
9. Turn on heater. Observe it for smooth ignition and
regular combustion without undue noise or pulsation.
10. Run the heater for at least 10 minutes. After at least
10 minutes of continuous operation, insert a combustion
analyzer probe into the exhaust and measure CO/CO
2
ratios. The maximum allowable CO/CO
2
ratio for
combustion products are listed in Table 2.
IMPORTANT: For Fuel Gas Conversion Kits, apply
the Label from Step 11.
