Finally, check the inlet/outlet port connections for inadequate sealing. Reseal the thread connections with Teflon® tape and re-tighten them.

Ensure the effluent water stream is shocked with chlorine (bleach) before the water leaves the UV system. The disinfection system must have a bacterial-free distribution system to work effectively. Also, test source water for turbidity. You may need stepped filtration to catch all sediment entering the water system, using a 20-micron filter followed by a 5-micron filter before the UV system.
