Off Engine Primary Fuel Filter
Remove
1. Turn the fuel supply valve (if equipped) to the OFF
position before performing this maintenance.
2. Place a suitable container under the water
separator to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean
up any spilled fuel. Clean the outside body of the
filter assembly.

3. Disconnect electrical connector (6). Drain fluid
from off engine primary fuel filter. Refer to this
“Operation and Maintenance Manual”Fuel System
Primary Filter/ Water Separator - Drain for more
information.
4. Remove end cover (5) and remove O ring (4).
Discard O ring (4). Ensure that the end cover (5) is
clear and free from dirt.
5. Remove filter (3) and discard.
6. Ensure the ceiling surface (1) is clear and free
from dirt. Lubricate the O ring seal (2) on the new
fuel filter (3) with clean engine oil.
7. By hand, spin-on the filter until the ceiling surfaces
contact, then rotate the fuel filter ¾ of a full turn.
8. Install a new O ring seal (4), lubricate with clean
engine oil, and install end cover (5) using hand
pressure only. Rotate the end cover (5) one sixth
of a full turn. Connect the electrical connector (6).
