For
mending
tears,
frayed
edges
and
small
holes,
place
a
piece
of material
under
the torn
fabric
which
is
larger
than
the
damaged
area.
Stitch
over
the
area
at the
width
of the
tear.
The
material
under
neath
reinforces
the
damaged
material
and
ensures
reliable
darning.
Trim
any
protruding
material
on
the
underside close
to the
edge
(Fig,
3).
