EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use 12-7
Using QuickCheck Workflow 3 or 4 with IGS and EWS
Depending on the configured workflow, records may require validation before being sent
to the hospital EMR system:
• With workflow 3, records are automatically sent to the hospital EMR.
• With workflow 4, attended records are automatically sent to the hospital EMR, but
unattended records require validation. For more information, see “Attended and
Unattended Patient Records” on page 3-27.
To take a patient’s vital signs using EWS with IGS and Workflow 3
1 Admit a new patient. See “Starting a New Patient Record” on page 3-15.
2 Take vital signs measurements and, if required, provide QuickCapture observations
and assessments in the Observations and Assessments menu.
As each vital sign is completed, a colored circle in the relevant numeric pane
indicates the risk band and/or EWS sub-score.
3 Touch Save or Save Now.
The VS30 analyzes the vital signs data and displays early warning scores and
suggested actions (if configured) in the QuickAlerts advisory window.
4 After reviewing the scores and actions, touch Acknowledge to close the QuickAlerts
advisory window and automatically return to the main screen.
The record is saved and automatically sent to the hospital EMR system. Initially, the
status indicator to the left of the saved patient record is white. After the record is sent
from the monitor to the EMR and is acknowledged by the EMR system, the color
changes to green.
Notes:
• You can view the EWS recommended actions again by opening the record and
touching the EWS button at the lower right of the expanded record.
• If the export to the EMR system fails, the indicator turns blue. See “Patient Record
Colors” on page 3-16
