Using QuickCheck Workflow 3 or 4 with IGS and EWS
12-8 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use
4 After reviewing the scores and actions, touch Acknowledge to close the QuickAlerts
advisory window and automatically return to the main screen.
The record is saved. If the record is an attended record, it is automatically sent to the
hospital EMR and the status indicator to the left of the record changes from white to
green.
If the record is an unattended record, and you are a user who is authorized to
validate patient records, skip to step 6.
If the record is an unattended record, and you are not a user who is authorized to
validate patient records, then an authorized user must perform step 5 and the
remaining steps in this procedure.
5 Log on with an authorized validator ID.
6 Open the record in the Pending Records tab of the Records menu or at the IGS
system.
The status indicator to the left of the record is purple, indicating that it requires
validation.
7 Review the record.
8 If the record requires any edits to patient information, see “To edit patient
information in a saved record in the Pending Records tab” on page 3-36.
9 When the record is ready to send, touch Validate.
The validated record is sent from the monitor and the IGS system to the EMR. After it
has been received and acknowledged at the EMR system, the status indicator
changes from purple to white, then green.
Notes:
You can view the EWS recommended actions again by opening the record and
touching the EWS button at the lower right of the expanded record.
If the export to the EMR system fails, the indicator turns blue. See “Patient Record
Colors” on page 3-16
For additional information, see “Validating Patient Records before Export” on page 3-38.
Notes:
Typically, a qualified nurse reviews the purple record at either the IGS system or at
the VS30 monitor and sends it to the hospital EMR system. The status indicator color
then changes to green in both locations.
If someone other than the original operator reviews or edits the patient record, that
person’s ID replaces the operator ID on the VS30 main screen information bar when
Edit or Validate is touched.
