Setting Up the Monitor
Visual and Auditory Battery Alarms
When operating on battery power alone, visual and auditory indicators alert you to low
battery conditions.
For more information, see Chapter 4, “Alarms.”
Large Battery Icon
If the monitor is in Standby mode and connected to AC power, the battery charges. A
large battery icon in the center of the touch screen uses color and bar size to indicate the
charge level of the battery.
If the monitor is connected to an AC power source but does not contain a battery, the
large battery icon is empty.
Your system administrator can configure the monitor to prevent the display of the large
battery icon.

Alarm Message Low Batt
Note: If a higher priority alarm
occurs at the same time, the
higher priority alarm message is
displayed.
Extreme Low Batt
Alarm Light Steady blue (no flashing) Flashing red
Alarm Response When you touch the
Acknowledge Alarm button,
the alarm audio and visual
alarm indicators are cleared.
When you touch the
Acknowledge Alarm button,
the alarm audio stops, but
resumes after 60 seconds if
the condition has not been
cleared. The visual alarm
indicators remain until the
condition is cleared.
Large
Battery Icon
Indication
Red indicates a charge from 0% to 19%. The red bar in the icon
increases in size as it approaches 19%.
Green indicates a charge from 20% to 100%. The green bar in the icon
increases in size as it approaches 100%.
