Numeric Panes
The numeric panes display the current numeric values for each vital sign being
monitored.
Touching a numeric pane opens that measurement’s menu, where you can change
settings. For details, see the chapter associated with the measurement you want to learn
about:
Chapter 5, “Monitoring SpO
2
Chapter 6, “Monitoring NBP
Chapter 7, “Monitoring Temperature — Predictive
Chapter 8, “Monitoring Temperature — Temporal
Chapter 9, “Monitoring Carbon Dioxide
Chapter 10, “Monitoring Pulse Rate
Chapter 11, “Monitoring Respiration Rate
Numeric panes also display visual indicators for alarm conditions, including color
changes. See “Flashing Numeric Panes” on page 4-4 for details.
Display Timeout for Aperiodic Measurements
For aperiodic vital signs measurements, the numeric values (and any related alarms) are
displayed in the numeric pane for up to 60 minutes after the measurement has been
taken.
After 60 minutes of display, a display timeout occurs. The numeric value disappears from
the numeric pane.
Under certain conditions, the numeric display ends sooner:
In Spot Check monitoring mode—or in Alarms Off mode, if configured—aperiodic
values are displayed for 60 minutes unless the record is saved within that time
period.
In Interval or Continuous monitoring mode, aperiodic values are displayed for 60
minutes, unless one of the following occurs:
- The record is saved—either manually or by the automatic Save Measurements to
Record interval in Continuous mode.
- Another measurement is taken of the same vital sign.
- A new patient event occurs that affects the displayed aperiodic measurement.
Note
Latched alarms are not subject to the display timeout. Measurement values and alarm
indicators associated with latched alarms remain displayed until you touch the
Acknowledge button.
