Managing Patient Information
Patient Admitted
If patient ID information has been provided for a patient:
• The patient’s assigned primary ID, patient type, and patient name are displayed.
Patient name is displayed with last name followed by first name. If patient name is
too long, it is truncated in the Patient Bar, as indicated by an ellipsis at the end of the
name.
• The View Trends button opens the trend view of the Patient menu. See “Trend View”
on page 3-8.
• The Discharge button discharges the current patient. See “Discharging a Patient” on
page 3-32.
• Touching the patient bar anywhere except on the View Trends or Discharge button
expands the bar to display additional patient information and to provide access to
additional actions.
In the expanded patient bar, you can:
• Touch View Trends to open the trend view for the patient. See “Trend View” on
page 3-8.
• Touch Edit to edit ID information for the current patient. See “Editing Patient
Information” on page 3-35.
• Touch Discharge to discharge the current patient. See “Discharging a Patient” on
page 3-32.
• Touch the up arrow at lower right to collapse the patient bar to its original view.
