Methods for Entering and Editing Patient Information
3-14 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use
Note
When all of the patient information fields have been entered, the prompt moves to the
OK button. If you are done, you can touch the OK button to return to the main screen.
However, if the New Patient Menu contains more than one page of patient information
fields, the prompt does not automatically take you to the first prompt on the next page.
Instead, you must touch the right arrow at lower right to go to the next page.
Using a Programmed Barcode Scanner
If your barcode scanner is programmed, the scanned information is automatically
transferred to the corresponding patient information fields on the monitor.
To get a proper read with the scanner:
• Hold the scanner closer to small barcodes and farther away from large barcodes.
• Ensure that the patient’s wrist band is lying flat and the barcode is visible.
• Ensure that the barcode is not damaged.
• Pause for at least one second between scans.
Using the On-screen Keyboard
For patient ID fields requiring manual input, touching the field opens an on-screen
keyboard that enables you to enter alphanumeric characters and special characters.
The keyboard opens to its alphabetic display, which presents standard alphabetic
characters and punctuation. You can touch the Swap button to switch to the numeric
keyboard, which presents numeric and special characters.
