measurements are not available in Spot Check monitoring mode.
If a measurement is not complete at the time the record is saved, the measurement is not
included in the record.
To complete a patient record in Spot Check monitoring mode
1 After completing the procedure “To start a new patient record” on page 3-18, begin
taking vital signs measurements.
2 Optionally, if QuickCapture is enabled on your monitor, touch the Observations and
Assessments/Pain Index pane to enter additional observations.
The Observations and Assessments menu appears. The fields and icons available in
the menu depend on how QuickCapture has been configured. See “Including
Observations and Assessments in a Patient Record” on page 3-27.
3 When all measurements are complete, touch Save.
Note
If QuickAlerts is configured on your monitor, touching Save may generate a
QuickAlerts advisory window that displays EWS scores and recommended actions.
You must review this information and touch Acknowledge in the window to finish
saving the record.
For more information about QuickAlerts, see “QuickAlerts Messages” on page 4-18.
For more information about EWS, see “Working with Early Warning Scoring (EWS)”
on page 3-32.”
The record is saved to the database and the patient is no longer monitored. The
primary ID is reset to Unknown.
You can view the saved record by touching the Records button on the main screen.
Completing a Patient Record in Interval Monitoring Mode
WARNING
To ensure patient safety, always check that you are using the correct patient ID before you begin
measuring and saving vital signs.
Caution
To prevent your NBP interval settings from being disabled, it is critical that you admit your patient
before setting an NBP auto interval or interval program. When you admit a new patient, any
previously configured NBP auto interval or interval program is reset to defaults (as configured by
your system administrator). Therefore, if you admit a patient after setting the interval, automatic NBP
measurements will not be taken unless you set the interval again.
